  • Initial impressions: Garbage, Merchants and Death

So far, so good. A couple of reactions, though:

    (1) I am having a ton of trouble locating places to dump worthless loot, nor can I find the fire DMFI thing to rid myself of it. As a result, I am littering the server with stuff, and I feel really bad about that. More garbage cans? Instructions to the fire?

    (2) 99% of the merchants will not purchase things, including things that they themselves have JUST sold me. This is exacerbating my inventory management problem, and a little confusing in terms of immersion into the setting.

    (3) death. I like the system, my query has more to do with the respawn aspect. I understand that I am respawning in the arse-end of nowhere after dying in Sundren because of alignment. I fear I do not entirely follow the in-character rationale for this, and OOCly find it a bit irritating to end up very far away from where I wanted to be. I'd dearly love to be able to choose a return location.

I have many positive reactions, so please don't read this as the ravings of a chronic malcontent. Wait until you know me better to do that!

    (1) Don't worry about it. We have a script that cleans stuff on the ground after a little while. Also, the DMFI tool is important, because it records information about your PC, such as languages. Hang onto it, and don't try to pick anyone else's up.

    (2) The Exigo Trading House (located within the Post) buys literally everything, as do your faction stores.

    (3) You usually respawn somewhere where your character would likely end up after being stabbed, shot, and set on fire, a temple that caters to your alignment. While I know this is somewhat difficult in some cases, we usually have world map points pretty close to wherever you are. That being said, sometimes you aren't. In those cases, try to see that making travel, or respawning, too easy would also prove to be immersion breaking.

Still, we're always open to suggestions, so please keep them coming! If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact a DM in private or to post them here on the boards.

      (1) Try the Exigo Trade Post! There are garbage cans there and it's only a world map transition away.

      (2) Also try the Exigo Trade Post! - The Trading House contains vendors that will buy - almost - anything from you. But better yet, join a faction and sell your junk to the faction vendor. They will give you a better deal.

      (3) I think the respawn points are supposed to discourage just picking yourself off after being killed and running right back to the fight as though nothing happened. But yes, sometimes they are a little bit awkward. If you join a faction, you will start respawning in your faction's HQ, rather than based on your alignment.

just a little something you could do if the junk is bothering you that much. when you find that bloody sling for the 8th time instead of taking it, you can put your 7 other ones in the drop and let the server get rid of it.

          1. I've added more trash bins to outdoor, higher traffic areas. They should be implemented within the next update or three.

            2) only the public exigo store buys Bone wands. Faction store don't take them so only one store takes just about everything (unless it has no value)
Bree - Bookkeeper and diplomat of Exigo.

Becky Dragonhin - Sword of the Loyal Fury, Knight of the Triad... the only Good hin in Sundren???
            Cybil Gelley (Retired)
Perry Turnipfodder - aspiring talent, happy chronicler.
