There's no 'Increased risk of perma/meaningful death for everyone' option.

I'd like to speak to a manager about this.

Can somebody link me to the thread of the 'new' death system? Yeah, I guess I've been gone that long.

It's nearly two years old, so not that new! But.. yeah.

There have been tweaks and changes since but that thread should give you a good overview.

I was thinking more Level cap remains as is, permadeath for everyone.

Not vicious. I just want death to mean something.

Seeing the same heroes and villains doing the same battle over the same thing week after week after week after... you get the point. Never dying, never winning, never developing.

No more casual 'I died but got better' agonizing tossery. Firm guidlines covering the nature of 'death' in various settings - what constitutes permadeath and what is fine to respawn from, what happens when permadeath happens (XP rewards for new characters, items, etc). Let's have drama, plots, risk and danger! Not this numbing rolling endlessness of respawning and bouncing back as perky as ever no matter what!

Without winners or losers there is only average numbing tedium.

I voted lower level cap, but if I could frankenstein those options together:

Lower level cap (level cap 15, epic by DM XP, pseudo-permadeath for non-epic, permadeath for epic PCs)
                  Account Name: LuvHandles
Maneae StrongArm - Devilish Warrior Woman (Active: Finding her place after time in reflection)
Minael Cel'Anon - Elven Smith, Knight and Wizard (Inactive: seeking clues to lost elven artifacts)
Aria Duvaine - Wouldn't you like to know . . . (Inactive: Whereabouts unknown)
Ra'd Malik - Mulhorandi Warrior (Inactive: Off on a mission for the BH)
Khyron Brinsbane - Fury of Auril (Inactive: Working with Cwn Annwn)
Chazre Kenner - All around good guy with a penchant for revelry and chasing the ladies. (Deleted: Team Good, returned to Cormyr)

Either fine as is, or a lower level cap. Maybe not even up to 15 - 10-12?
But please, keep one thing in mind for me. What have you become when even nightmares fear you?

Concern: How much development time would it take to readjust the world to be friendly to capped at 15? Seems a few of the epic dungeons would have to be adjusted. And developer time is always precious. Would the other suggestions not be more practical from a development stance?

The content we have now could support PCs up to ~level 25, from an XP delivery standpoint.

know there has been a discussion of many points of view, how about epic level with X level of rep? it might make the best of both worlds.

1 it gives the possibility of a PC to make a limited epic level.

2 I puts the emphisis on the faction system. IE miros (pardon the spelling) Blackwell, being as high as she is with the legion would be epic?/ that scary cleric of bane Korvos ( again not sure of the spelling) would also be epic and her counterpart.

this might bring the best of all worlds. lord knows running flags every hour just to make 5000 rep is a long long time.
