Next you're going to say that a people should be allowed to become Weapons Masters with bows! No one has ever been a master with a projectile weapon... Snipers just make you think they are... they're just really really fast and run and push the bullet in peoples heads then run back to where they were sitting....Bree - Bookkeeper and diplomat of Exigo.
Becky Dragonhin - Sword of the Loyal Fury, Knight of the Triad... the only Good hin in Sundren???
Cybil Gelley (Retired)
Perry Turnipfodder - aspiring talent, happy chronicler.

Well, given they've probably got levels in Monk on account of all the thinking and (quasi) meditative thingys they do the fast movement kind of makes sense....It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do a little - Do what you can.

Great suggestion!
Why waste all the feats when you could go 20 Fighter and be a boss?Originally posted by Fezzik View PostNext you're going to say that a people should be allowed to become Weapons Masters with bows! However, I fully agree that spirit shamans should qualify for the Master of Shrouds PrC. I have always felt that Spirit Shamans are a little blah. Don't get me wrong they are actually quite a powerful class, but I always see shamans more as mystics. Not exactly in the field of Mystic Theurges where they are lovers of magic, but more like that of a blur between Druid/Sorcerer - much like in Baldur's Gate with the Avenger Druid Kit.
I have long been wanting to play one on Sundren, not Spirit Shaman, but a shaman-esque style of character. My problem is I couldn't find a solid mix for how I wanted to roll one. Master of Shrouds would apply the type of flavor I would be looking for! Granted I could of dipped into Cleric but I feel that takes a lot of flavor away."Service to a cause greater than yourself is the utmost honor you can achieve."

Spirit shaman's are bosses. Just pair one up with a paladin, and watch all the winning start to happen. But on the note of the suggestion, I can see a more callous shaman enslaving spirits to do his will, yea. I mean, Tigen would have murder-death-killed them, but he's dead now. Forever. I think Master of shrouds spirit shamans is cool. Has my approval.Tigen Amastacia: Died in events so you didn't have to.
Quintin Ulsteris: Nice-guy Legion engineer, deceased son of House Ulsteris.
Clandriel Cain: AKA "Fire-eyes" AKA "Demon hunter" AKA "OH MY GOD, WHY IS HE STILL STABBING ME!!??"

Well, Spirit Shaman (AKA Shaman) is really a medicine man and a naturalist. Master of Shrouds is unnatural and while wraiths/ghosts/etc are spirits, not sure they mean the exact same Spirit. After all, demons and celestials are spirits, but should a demonologist be able to suddenly be a celestine PrC?
HOWEVER...
That's just me pointing out what problem I would have. In truth, I really don't care if every spirit shaman was a Master of Shrouds.

I thought Spirit Shamans were a protector and servant of nature/spiritual world. I would have assumed dealing with undead was against their ethos.
But...I also think players should be allowed to make their character be whatever the hell they want as long as its not too unbalanced. Breaking convention makes for good RP ><UTC+8

I'm all for it, really. Nature deals with life as well as death, and this could be seen as an extension of the 'balance' and the restoration of it, as well as the exploitation of it. And I think making more PrC stuff available for classes is a good thing if it fits within roleplay, which I think this does.
Also, aren't demons and celestials Outsiders?Characters:
Peridan Twilight, one-eyed dog of the Legion, deceased.
Daniel Nobody, adventurer and part time problem solver.
[DM] Poltergeist : If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge an intermediate deity's unbridled fury.

Several of the spirit shaman’s abilities affect spirits. For purposesOriginally posted by Lotus View PostYeah, they're not spirits.
of the spirit shaman’s ability, a “spirit” includes any of
the following creatures:
• All incorporeal undead
• All fey
• All elementals
• Creatures in astral form or with astral bodies (but not a
creature physically present on the Astral Plane)
• All creatures of the spirit subtype (see Oriental Adventures)
• Spirit folk and telthors (see Unapproachable East)
• Spirit creatures created by spells such as dream sight or wood
wose (see Chapter 7).
That would include quite a few creatures actually. Demons, for example, can lose their bodies.
HOWEVER, Spirit Shaman is a COMMON D&D class, not a Forgotten Realms D&D class so cosmology gets odd for crap like this.
Considering Spirit Shamans can drive demons out of people they're possessing, I imagine incorporeal demons count as spirits since they can leave their bodies to possess others.
