It takes a long time to make content with a handful of volunteers, I have heard more complaints about us removing the quests than I'd care to hear, while this is not directed at you Mournas I'd like to direct my reply here to everyone inquiring about this.
Numerous lore and area changes have invalidated nearly every single quest, furthermore going forward we want our quests to be much improved over the old ones (this doesn't mean we will waste time on little details that provide minimal benefit).
Additionally many factions changed as well, which affected join quests.
We do plan to add them back -- but we have decided not to do them first, but rather to focus on quests that are specific to our dungeons, and level progression (this also helps newbies, where do I go after area X? The quest will show you!).
This is why we have implemented the faction join command for players who are high ranking members (they can join other players). DMs can also join players to factions.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
Honestly I like it this way. Members can decide to put initiates through some testing before they join. This has worked wonders for the Eboncoin, for one.

I can agree with that. To faction regulars (Fox used to be one) its a bit strange to have people who out level and outrank you popping up out of the woodwork without anyone knowing who they are.
"Hi, im your boss!"
"You are?"

That makes sense BUT finding a member that could in some factions would be harder. The subfactions of exigo all have high ranked members about but I've yet to see anyone over grade f for the main
Bree - Bookkeeper and diplomat of Exigo.
Becky Dragonhin - Sword of the Loyal Fury, Knight of the Triad... the only Good hin in Sundren??? Cybil Gelley (Retired) Perry Turnipfodder - aspiring talent, happy chronicler.
So I have the ability to induct members into the BH?
Someone will have to teach me how to do this.

That's where DMs come in, if you don't see a DM online the player will have to make a help request. Not as easy as just doing a quest, but better than nothing at all.

I agree... I actually like it that senior faction members can induct/enroll someone into their faction. As as Yev D said, it promotes an RP opportunity to put folks through some trials before joining.
That said... not all time zones have consistent DM participation.
So there is no function that I can just click and do?
I also like the idea that senior faction members can induct members.

I think this (and the removal command) give senior faction members much more control over faction membership and increases RP possibilities in a very positive way. This aspect probably should have its own thread, though.
Would it be possible to get a more complete explanation of the method and how it is implemented? Some questions I have are:
Who can actually use the commands? Is there a minimum level of seniority within the faction or sub-faction?
To join or remove someone, would I type in the dot command and then click on the person? Does it have to be validated by a DM at some point?
I believe the cut-off point is 10k in both directions. Someone with 10k reputation points can .fjoin others; no one with 10k reputation points can have .fkick applied by a PC. DMs, of course, can add join and kick at they deem fit.
To use, have the PC targetted and simply type .fjoin / .fkick. For .fjoin, the target receives a pop-up box asking something to the effect of: "[Faction PC's name] wants to add you to their faction. Do you accept?" followed by the yes/no choice. The faction PC receives no information about the decision, but he or she can just right-click the target and check Faction Affiliation the same as normal.
