  • Hand-carts for Hagglers

    Hey all,

I had an interesting idea, regarding the current pets and such, and how it would be pretty fun and useful to have hand-cart 'pets', similar to the current critters but only to follow or stay still. The actual ability to hold stuff is not required, but it would be pretty nifty to have, particularly if they could be 'killed' and looted. Or stolen like the current pets can be if anyone interacts with them.

    Comments and critique welcomed,
    Cheers,
    Kit

I think this can only open the doors for interaction of financial, criminal, and social styles. I think the cart should be able to hold stuff, mostly so someone could take a corpse cart around >_>. Would also be neato for those wandering salepeople characters I see occasionally.

          So, for Myrkulite gravekeepers?
          Characters:
Peridan Twilight, one-eyed dog of the Legion, deceased.
Daniel Nobody, adventurer and part time problem solver.

            Myrkulite?

You've no idea how long I've been hanging onto this .gif in the hope someone would mention them...

I just... You wouldn't be able to interact with the cart in any meaningful way. You'd just be followed across the land by a stalking cart. Why not just RP pushing a cart around?

The potential for OOC grief from having an inventory located on a roaming NPC pet thing makes me break out in a cold sweat.

              Nice gif. Worth the wait.

I guess I have too much faith in people, I don't see too many folks wanting to hurt other players by using engine glitches. I'm actually kind of FOR putting in ways to easily bait those people into the open so we can catch them...

It's not so much the potential problems that may arise from players, but potential issues with faction/stability that could result in a total loss of anything in the things inventory.

And I can see why: one server reset, and the entire thing's gone poof, along with supplies. Corpses, factional goods, etc. all getting chucked into the astral plane indefinitely.
I'm guessing that the loot-drop on death can be solved easily enough: drop all items and add a cart object into the loot-bag.

I was just thinking that the atmosphere of having the things would be nice, regardless of inventory.
