I'm guessing we don't need to discuss the possibility of discovering your own corpse. =X

In all fairness, I have stopped playing a char due to death, and received a PM days or weeks later saying "I found your corpse, and my char recognised the body, so I raised you" after asking no aid and playing a different char the entire time. Exeption rather than the rule, I am well aware, but it happens.
Probably helps if you follow basic hiking procedure; I don't think many adventuerers do.

Something my roomate taught me....if you fill your inventory with random crap....like spoons....percentage wise your chances of losing your good items goes down (all that crap the old loot system gave out had its uses)

*laughs* I had a bad string of luck dying alot in the past. I instead took a quiver of bolts and split it up into individuals in order to lessen the probability of a random item loss hitting something good.

However, either I have the bad luck of being targeted by the lower end of the bell curve, or the internal dice roller just hates me, but I always lost something worthwhile.

I have to reverify but I'm fairly certain a week ago I removed the item eating script for death respawning.

Apparently not - just had someone in our party respawn and lose their sword.
