  • Text Macros

Text macros would be a good idea to look into. I've played on systems where you could have up to twenty in macro. Was excellent for bards who wanted to keep a few verses handy, priests, with actual prayers, and great for all around "generally typed" reactions/emotes with certain characters.

This wasn't the exact system I played on, but it sounds similar. Perhaps it could be added to our UI?

i think this was what i missed the most from NWN 1. i was sadly disapointed when i discovered one could not do that with nwn2.

Players using Client Extension can macro text. The downside is that there is no way to label the macro icon for the hotbar. r3 & I tested this with different variations of "Falcon Punch!" waaaay back when.

I like this idea. There were times where i would use power attack and wanted my character yell out position of the fowl! Or when using disarm or knockdown, he would shout crazy horse technique or something. But did not because i was too lazy, or because it was too impractical to type in combat. The only bad thing about this might be spam.

I agree with all above statements, text macros are 100% made of win, I remember having a Banite priest in nwn1 who would give sermons, alot of which were pre-written and stored as Macros.

I agree! Text macros would be awesome, if implementable, and especially if they can be used (judiciously) in battle. You wouldn't have to commit suicide to emote things while fighting big baddies (or big goodies).

*nods* would take care of a lot of typing...
