I was wondering if the staff just might be willing to possibly reconsider the nerfing by adding CE as a requirement now that the new rest rules nerf the class in a manner of speaking.

How does forcing a class you say is nerfed to take another feat make it better? They aren't even nerfed either. Sure, the people going 1 fighter/ 9 wizard/ 10 EK who take practiced caster are hosed, but you can just go 5/5/10 and take practiced caster and it's completely legit. YOu end with a CL of 19 at 20, 8th level spells, and a BAB of +17, which is pretty damn good and not in any way nerfed IMO. -
