Would it be possible to add a sub-faction store in "Bristlebeard's Hollow" with Dwarven specific items and assorted sundries, e.g. bandages, potions, etc?

Delexos wrote the other day about the Dwarven loot found in the Duergar’s Cave and mentioned he thought it was appropriate for the dungeon. I agree, which is what prompted this suggestion.

I know the Dwarven population on Sundren has dropped a bit from the Skullcleaver’s heyday, but I believe this is cyclical. Perhaps with the introduction of sub-faction specific items on a lesser par with the Blackwood Company, this would encourage the player base to consider this race/sub-faction. Or would it be a reintroduction? I thought you could get supplies from Drom a couple of years ago but not sub-faction gear?

    Cheers!

It would be nice if there were a store. As far as I am aware all other sub-factions have their own stores. As it stands we Dwarves get the Exigo main store and nothing else, save what we make ourselves.

There used to be a store up in Bristlebeard's Hollow. Fili Stonetoe, if memory serves. While I cannot comment on whether that store will be reinstated, I will say this all of the stores are being overhauled. Some have already seen updates live on server. Bear with the Devs as they work to finish the others. Thank you for the suggestion.

Are all dwarven names recycled ones from the hobbit? What's wrong with John 'toughsonofabitch' smith!

My answer would be = sort of.

DnD dwarves are heavily based on Tolkein's intrepretation. Tolkein himself drew heavily upon previous dwarven myths, particularly Germanic and Norse sources.

For instance, prior to "The Hobbit", dwarves had a reputation for mining, metalwork and being really nasty little buggers. Clearly things have changed a great deal since then.

The names of the dwarves from "The Hobbit" are taken from names in the "Dvergata", or "Catalogue of the Dwarves", part of a collection of Norse lore called the "Poetic Edda".

With such an ancient and respectable source to draw upon, it is only natural that a similar theme has been followed since by most.

However, you should feel free to buck the trend if you wish. Dwarves do whatever they damn well please.

Thank you for educating me Intrepid. I shall go out and make an unlawful dwarf with an odd name merely to please the gods of nomenclature
