With the new loot system being put in place, can the gold per kill be removed and gold be dropped as an item instead?

Better yet, can we remove all dropped gold or gold per kill and instead go with gold from (rare) loot stashes/barrels, a weekly faction wage or quest/item rewards only.

Do away with the ability to grind for gold, establish a rough Z amount per level per week with faction / job variable instead.

I'd love a faction wage. I get almost no gold on Jo because she's essentially a non-combatant (my last 3 levels have been almost entirely from RP/DM exp), so that would help a lot.

Gold/kill is nice for the whole equitable distribution of loot thing.

That should be decided in RP, this is an RP server isn't it?

Given the volume of complaints, ninja looting, item theft, unsporting behavior and other tedious time/spirit consuming dross that surfaced with the old items dropped by quest bosses thing I really don't think gold will be dropped rather than just given per kill.

We want things that increase enjoyment, not generate complaints.

I can see your point, but the quest boss drops were supposed to be a one time deal and then you finish the quests, the item only drops once for you. This makes ninja looting a major problem, if its repeated drops instead of just once in a lifetime the lvl of complaints shouldnt be any more than its going to be if things actually drop loot with the new loot system.

I think it would be fun negotiating gold division instead of the current "heres some gold per kill" system.

I havent played above lvl 9 here yet, but it seems that most of the gold i got with nadril got used in buying cafting supplies from the exigo store, crafting - and of course saving for duelist gear. Crafting would pretty dull if not for that extra allowance at least in my experince. Its a great gold sink, but it woukd put those not using the crafting system at an advantage of course. Depends on the dev team wievs on the system really. I feel its integral to the server.

if thise suggestions thaelis, kit and I put forward in another thread, then yeah I cold live without the gold. But from an rp perspective I'd rather like my wages (especially if i had to get then from npcs myself)

As an Exigo member I love to read about steady streams of revenue. I remember playing a 15th level Fighter/Weapons Master that never had a pot to piss in. I never amassed more than 10k GP at one time in game. So getting gold per kill is a nice way to earn that necessry cash to buy faction kit, etc.

There is another way to make good money in Sundren. Become a crafter. It doesn't matter what you do: Cut wood, make cloths, mine, make armor or weapons, etc... you will make money if you stick to it long enough. The amount of money anyone pays for one bottle of blue dye is enough to stay at Second Wind Inn for nearly a month. Why? Because it is hard to find the precursors sure, but also so few folks provide the service.

IMO if you want to amass a small fortune - amount being relative - get involved in some form of crafting.

                  Cheers!

                    Two birds, one stone maybe.

If we want a level cap too (see other thread) and we're worried about people not being on for LONG periods of time (I wouldn't know anything about being on the server for extended periods of time... really, I don't know anything!!!) and a lot of gold being dolled out; put a cap on the amount of XP and GOLD that can be earned in a RL week. Then any grinding will be truly doing something odd called Role Playing! People might go out just to aid their friends, instead of going out to get more gold and/or get xp.

After all, you can only learn so much by smacking 1000 goblins in a row... after the first 200, you've probably learned all their techniques, and and bled them of all the money in the tribe (aka. found their stashes and it's going to take them time to accrue more goblins and more gold before they can be plundered again). I'd rather have the gold auto deposited into my inventory than have to worry about people scarfing up all the goods and running off with them because "It's what my Character would do!"

I want to put a cap on how much you can roleplay.

If you kill a goblin you earn 25 characters of text chat. Orcs are worth 50.

Hmm interesting idea, how much would butchering a commoner be worth? I could slay an entire village to earn the right to spend a paragraph boasting about it
Until I can somehow magically discover, hitherto unknown, skills to make a nice looking sig pic to represent my main chrs -

Does that include the omnipresent 96% of RP * nod *?

What utopian RP world do you think we live in? I can't even get people to follow hardlined rules, you don't think they will ninja loot like crazy?

Give people means and they will do something deceitful, this has proven true time and time again.

If you want to RP gold divisions, pool your gold and RP it after the dungeon.
