  • Mirakus Mines seem dry

I know this may well be on a list to get worked on, and that pretty much all crafting-related skills are currently nonfunctional, but it seems like the Mirakus mines are totally out of Sundrite (perhaps why it was closed all that time before the Second Sundering). One would expect at least one vein (and probably more) in a place crawling with mutants and elementals driven to agression by Sundrite-radiation poisoning.

I'd actually like to remove sundrite from the crafting system because the lame properties is has mechanically doesn't really reflect that its supposed to be this barely understood magic mystery stuff.

You mean Uranium? It must be... it's warm, can make an entire city fly, creates mutants... it's gotta be Uranium! Don't let gnomes near it!

Removal from the crafting system I can understand (cold resist 5 hardly seems worth making it into anything), but hopefully the raw-sundrite ore (and said veins) can stay. To be processed via DM-monitored RP events and the like.

Although, I like the idea of sticking a fighter in sundrite fullplate for three days and monitoring for genetic changes.

I was going to make a suggestion on this a while back but didn't because staff is always saying "Don't make suggestions about the Craft system! its in the works!" :P

Make Sundrite magic damage resistance 2 or 3. People would KILL for it then, and it would be a serious alternative to adamantine or mithril.

EDIT: Plus it makes sense as this barely understood mystery magical stuff for it to absorb magic

I'm pretty sure they heal from spells, no proof ATM though.

Magic resistance 10 and a random chance of mutation every time you get hit! or go boom! Either way, it would certainly be fun to watch.

I think Sundrite armor and its cold resist will probably become much more useful once Icewind Dale gets opened up. I imagine the saves versus exposure will be nigh impossible (unlike the cold climb and its adjacent areas) and the fire resist may just keep you alive. At least, I hope they are going to make exposure that deadly in some of those areas.

The Caretaker stole all the ore. He's planning to make a hot tub out of it. Sorry guys.

Does the caretaker live in that super posh room that is full of pissed off elementals? Because I like that room.

Better not let him know about the one Sundrite Ore James found in his storage. (<.<) (>,>) Because he would totally test the Uranium theory.
