Could have been a scroll. I've been noticing much higher level spell scrolls dropping. I still remember spittlefist throwing cloudkill scrolls back in the day.

So went to Argyle while the server was dead this morning, had been buffed... Doing pretty well, cleared one level of the first house, go upstairs and there is a bard and the wizardess. I run to focus the Wizard/Sorc and the bard casts a dispel magic. Stripped almost every buff I had. 18 spells in total. Unless there were some changes that seems incredibly strange.. Cleric spells were 20th caster level. Not sure on the couple Mage buffs, but must be 13-14ish. I made it out alright, but that was just insane.

The Abyssal dudes in the Chapel only dispel 1-6 of my buffs per attempt, and I'm about the same caster level as whoever buffed you.UTC+8

Must have been Greater Dispel. I had bad luck like that once as Dain. Most of the time, the dwarves get nothing or a single buff. One time, that smarmy little bastard took everything. It's mathematically possible.Originally posted by CornutoGlad everyone's being extra fucking ridiculous today.

The path to higher levels is paved with the bones of lizardmen.
Both of the lizard dungeons - Sestra Mines and the Ixis Labyrinth - are highly competitive compared to other dungeons of the same level range. They offer a good return on their XP and are, by and large, mostly about physical damage and physical attacks.
Argyle's Hamlet offers less XP than the Ixis Labyrinth and is, in my opinion, harder and riskier to run. There are NPCs that can do unpredictably high amounts of damage, and casters that both nuke you and dispel you.
Mossdale is more difficult simply because you have a larger chance of getting swamped by multiple spawns. The Ixis labyrinth features narrow walkways. Though there are archers, you rarely have to fight more than one spawn at a time. The natural, open area of Mossdale means you can get overrun by Bloodmaim berserkers if you're not careful.
As far as the Sestra Mines go, there doesn't seem to be any other dungeon around the same level range that competes with it. Many people I've spoken to agree that it's essentially the only place to go during that span between levels 14 and 17.
By that time, you're over-leveled for most places in the Viridale Woods. The ghosts and spiders of the Untrodden path offer less XP and less treasure, despite being comparable difficulty. (No treasure in the case of the spiders - the only reason to go there is to pick up Silk). The Infested Sundrite Mine suffers from enemies immune to crit (sending all rogues and assassins to Sestra instead), and some of the enemies seem much tougher than those found in the Sestra Mines, despite the Sestra Mines offering more XP.
In essence, lizardmen are the most lucrative mid-level enemies. Poor reptiles.Server vagabond.

Most Good or Legion characters can't take the route through Sestra without OOC silliness.UTC+8

lvl 6 Pali/Sorc (don't judge me)
lvl 6 Fighter/Sorc
lvl 6(?) Bard
Viridale Forest Mossclaw Meet
The spawns are spread out great. Because of how the spawns are spread out it never feels like they're respawning too fast.
I think they may be a tad weak though, with a 24 AC char I could solo the living daylights out of them without slowing down. With a 21 AC char I'd have to be very dmg base to do it though.
------------------------------------------
Same chars as above except the fighter/sorc was lvl 7 by now
add in a lvl (??) dwarf
Grimaxe Fort
The orcs seem ok for the lvl 7ish range being as the greated danger is their high str scores and numbers.
The spawn timers are wonky as hell though, reset WAY too fast and you can run around in circles in the fort all day without not seeing a spawn to kill.
I did not test the chief as everyone was out of buffs, the dwarf solo'd him though.
(the chief timer seems like its working fine as he doesnt spawn and respawn constantly)"Half the lies they tell about me aren't true."

Have to agree, and extend on that. They are also the most lucrative high-level enemies. At level 19 Argyle still holds a tiny bit of risk to solo (the Chapel at least), for a max of 32xp per kill. The blue lizards on the other hand also give 32xp, die just as fast as the grey/green lizards and cannot dish out punishment as well as their supposedly weaker grey/green brethren.Bram Drismon: Sundrens Centurio

There is an NPC at Port Avanthyr that's apparently supposed to take you to Ixis, but the conversation is either intentionally or unintentionally missing. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be only accessible by Sestra or not.Bjorn Raskstal - The man with a pink bow

Qq; is there still the naga cave by the cartel mountain? I remember that being a very good area for someone with acid immunity and a decent DR! (I leveled falmari from lvl11 to 16 in the space of about a week if I remember rightly)Originally posted by roguethreeIf I had my way, clerics would have spell failure and a d6 hit die. And Favored Souls wouldn't exist.
