This is something similar to the DMFI tool, so could be seen as unnecessary, but, from my perusal of the screens shown (I can't download and test it - I'm at work) it also seems to offer a large number of CUSTOM EMOTES

These look like they include the abilities to do all those really complex things - like, sit on the ground - that Obsidian thought were less important to include than 4 varieties of dance emote.

It does a lot of other stuff as well... just thought I'd post a link - apologies if you are already aware of it.

Sitting down! Drinking beer! Playing the Lute! Persistent sitting down even, which isn't just kneeling!! Looks like the community is well on with the job of sorting out all the missing bits from NWN2 .....

Looks interesting. Certainly a lot nicer than DMFI and the emotes are good. The stuff about setting up camp got me curious too, if it's just a "mode" or if it actually creates a tent and campfire.

It actually creates a campfire and places it on the ground....I've used something similar on an other PW. Same with the tents.

Advantage with this one is that they auto-decay after 30 RL minutes...otherwise you can have problems with people spamming campfires and tents everywhere...presumably because they find it funny

Yeah, I've seen it done on NWN servers too. It was cool at first, but got boring after the 10th time because it took -so- long and it always played when you went to rest. Sure, "realistic", but who wants to see a 30 seconds cutscene of your guy bulding a tent and then a campfire every time you go to rest?

Hopefully this isn't like that. And if it's well thought, it limits you to creating just one at a time.

*shrugs* to be honest i can live without campfires and tents, and the DMFI we have works fine for dice rolls.

I agree 100% on this. Perhaps our tech-savy builders/admin know and want to merge the two? *dreams*

I agree that this one looks quite cool. One of the drawbacks I see would be to lose the languages... but perhaps that could be worked on eventually.

You can already sit down with DMFI, in fact most of everything that system does is already in DMFI. Any extra emotes or actions that aren't available in the DMFI could be easily added, though right now Sundren's programming team is quite small, IE myself and GodBeastX so such things won't be seen for a long while.

While it would be nice to have a bunch of emotes, I think sitting on the ground is one of the very most important ones. Perhaps just that one emote could be implemented a little sooner. I know you guys are super busy, though, so just ignore my fantasizing.

Umm..how can you sit down with the DMFI, and persistant at that? And yes..personally one of the things I really miss is being able to sit on a chair/bench/etc

Sitting on the ground would be very neat indeed. I'd push it a little higher on the list GBX, because it makes alooooot of people happy and I don't think it's that much work ?
