  • Tying up loose ends?

So, I just saw Tirion Swordbourne in the AFK room... and two months after it originally happened I see his armor still looks like a Skittles factory vomited a rainbow all over him. Considering this was obviously custom designed armor that had priorly been in shades of gray and purple (to denote his faith to Eilistraee, I'm sure), and was made outside the server's crafting system and is therefore irreplaceable, I assumed that the storyline this happened during would eventually set it right and return his armor to its original form.

Ghal and Nekros are still hanging out in the Citadel waiting to recover the entirety of their inventories that were taken by a DM when their dead bodies were brought to the jailhouse three weeks ago.

Why is this happening? If a DM wants to do a long plot with someone, that's cool when everyone is having fun with it. But if these things are happening, messing up people, making them not want to actually play (I haven't hardly seen blurry online since it happened, but I'll grant that may just be coincidence), shouldn't we be working to tie up these things before starting new stuff? Can't whoever was running this stuff let other DM's know the story if they aren't going to have time to finish it up?

Blurry's in Afghanistan with the U.S. Army, and his internet is pretty poor. He occasionally logs in for low-key rp and to chat with some folks.

Can't speak for Nekros's and Ghal's misfortunes. I'd say PM the DM in question, and if no response, put something in the Help Request thread. If no response there, mutiny.

I did post in the help request/Character request it is a combination of issues of availability of other players they would like involved and their own availability.

That said, if it could be handled at least in part by other DM's to move forward, that would be cool.

I think though she was using our issues as an example of sharing the burden to keep some momentum, so players don't lose interest in the plots when they get stalled for months on end.

On a more serious note - thank you for the consideration Tamha, really. I appreciate it.

As for the DM running the Skittles Armor Event - it is an ongoing thing that only just recently got wrapped up. I have horrible internet connection, with sporadic playtimes. The DM has been more than patient and gracious when working with Tirion (and me), and in this case, there is really no one to blame (except the person/s who sent me to war, but that's another can of worms). But I assure you - I am having fun.

I mean, who else gets the pleasure to gallavant around like a shimmering disco ball of skittles excellence?

I'm glad to hear that you're all good with it, and I didn't take your current location into consideration.

Mostly it was just something that jumped out at me, and reminded me that sometimes plots take a lot longer than I would expect. I guess it seems like a long time for me because I am in game so regularly.

And really, that armor would drive me insane. I really wouldn't want to taste the rainbow on a daily basis.

This was mainly my point, yes. These are examples that caused the post, but I'm sure it's happened before and is likely to happen again. Mostly I just want people to consider what can be done when a plot gets drawn out rather than just dropping it because they get bored.

            That makes one of us.
