Would it be possible with the effects of the new rest system (once it is working properly to begin with) to make it so we can intentionally remove positive effects (like light) as it does not remove with the 10 minute rest anymore, it would be nice to be able for rp's sake to be able to remove these effects rather than waiting either the 2 hours or having to run off to a rest area.

Seconded. Screw Light... Invisibility's a nag and a half. At least with Light you can display your presence in a sparkly, epilepsy-inducing fashion. Invis is like being stuck in a bad Twilight Zone episode, whenever there are no trash cans to kick with a paladin-like fervor."I know that kind of man, it's hard to hold the hand of anyone, who is reaching for the sky just to surrender." ~ Leonard Cohen, The Stranger Song
Samak Nerinide - Professional vagabond, arcane investigator, and expert drunkard.
Ripentare - Living, breathing, Create Greater Undead, seeking the riddle of steel.
Wylks Meshrunner - Self-proclaimed magehunter and former sky-pirate of Halruaa.

Originally posted by bipolar bear View Posti would love to see a lot of visiual effects removed my self. i never did like seeing people running around in giant hamster balls and the like. i think when it comes to casters it kinda of brings the hint of mystery as to what preperations they have done. but thats just me.
Also, freaking illogical (not that magic need to be logical I guess), Endure elements & Resist elements have no visual effect and then BAM! massive disco-globe for Prot. Energy! Amulet of natural armor doesn't change your skin color but Spiderskin does etc
I think it would add an extra element of tension to PvP/duels too. "Paladin Bob bellows in triumph as he plunges his blade into...*clank* the grinning Wizard's stone-like skin"UTC+8
Yes, I realise my RP writing sucks. Just be thankful I keep it short

Hopefully keeping VFX will discourage people from keeping up earth shattering amounts of spells in order to do nothing more than sit around a fire.
"I, Bob the Egotistical, shall bend the fabric of the world to my will, I will make my skin in the image of the hardest radon emitting granite, I shall tranform this again, likening it to the armoured carapace of the fiercest insects. I will fortify myself so that I will not fear the excesses of heat nor cold, nor fear the bite of acid or terrible bards. I will wrap myself with the weave so that no dark magics may touch me and I will enhance my eyes so I see all that is before me as it truly is. And I do this in the name of campfire companionship and for the goodness of petty small talk"
"So. Rain again?"

All I was asking was for a way to dispel the effects that do not appear in the character effects window at will rather than needing to go to a rest area or waiting the 2 hours. My intention with this suggestion had nothing to do with removing visual effects on active spells.Ghal Narish, Battle-Mage
Faucon De'Ombre, Triadic Knight
Ulriel Gabrieth, Devout of Lathander
Noril De'nor, Archer ...
Liem Ashcroft, Miner, Smith, and Weaponsmaster

Yup, sorry. went off on a tangent there.
Some way of being able to break invisibility and a way to self debuff would be very useful. It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do a little - Do what you can.
