  • Adding a Relevelling Function

Will it ever be considered to add an object which you can use to voluntarily drain your levels?

e.g. You are level 17. At level 15 you took a redundant/useless feat. Instead of having to start again from level 3, you could drain 2 levels and then would have to gain XP to level back up to 17.

I feel that this would hurt RP a lot less than restarting from level 3, which really messes up any plots you were involved in already.

I'm guessing there are a lot of players out there who have remade characters at least once. There are a lot of skills and feats that are useless or redundant in combination.

For me its too late already. Just hoping this can be added to make the game a little less vexing for future players.

i would have a lot of fun with something like this. I'll be able to join up with some of the newer players in quests and their exp will not be docked for it. but having a level 1 character with all +3 gears running around?? i dunno, it'll sure be fun for kyle though.

While the idea might be sound (from a power gaming perspective), it's not ever going to happen. If you really want to perfect your build, have a sound game plan at the beginning of a PC and follow it.

We're not going to promote OOC behavior (and unless you run into a succubus, that's what this is) by providing the community with a way to power build. If you want to do it from the beginning, that's up to you.

As GD said, if you find it that important to have every level perfectly allocated in order to maximize your build, then you should be using a character builder and have it all planned out before even starting.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Nothing to do with powergaming, some things just have no function. Like taking Still spell and Arcane armour proficiency together, taking some skills beyond a certain point stops having any ingame function (maximum DC u will ever find ingame is 20), and you could have been putting those points in RP skills.

I was just suggesting it because it seems like an unnecessary frustration. Anyway, i've discovered its fun to start again from level 3, as you meet characters you wouldn't have otherwise.

I see what you mean though. It would be an OOC mechanism, which i hate the idea of too. Unless you made a creature in game that drained levels (Hello Shadow dragon!)
