The entire reason that I made my Shadowbane Stalker a FvS is because rogues need very good items to be effective. Their BAB as a base dps/support class is absolutely horrible, so to remedy this I got all of the good combat buffs that would actually let me hit (evil) things with a slew of magic damage and carry my weight. I need my spell slots to go through an entire dungeon. Need them. Certainly, I have a few levels where I can spare a magic vestment/spell resistance/gmw/etc so the fighter is doing his job magnificently, too, but despite having so many spells per day most are dedicated to my being able to melt high priority targets.

Hearing about the rest system change is not a problem for me. The whole point of the character is to get in while buffed, kill something important, and get out while everyone else murders the remaining entourage. An assassin that can tear through even a cleric "caught with his pants down" (aka buffs active that have no visible spell effects). I'm not a wizard, a pure dps ranger or a weaponmaster; I'm a burst melee caster and I'm okay with this.

If there will be no items with persistent effects on them, I would adore many items with appropriate castings per day. I will happily carry 30 lbs. of use/day gear if that will lessen the load on my spell slots, and that means I can actually spare some buffs for the barbarian in our group without feeling incomplete afterwards. Or feeling like an ass because I can't afford to give up the slots.

I'm closing this, and remarking on this comment right here first though.

Permadeath happens due to the actions of said character itself, and has never been because of someone pushing it. Hasn't happened, will not happen, end of discussion. Going turncloak on your faction and giving away vital information is something that is not good to do.
