  • Cleric Domains: Good/Evil

The evil domain ability to turn outsiders is a little over the top, considering it's an epic level feat that requires 25 charisma.

Since the +1 caster level bonus from PnP is difficult to implement in NWN2, it would be more appropriate for the evil domain to grant Detect Good in place of Planar Turning. The code is already in the game for Blackguards and it would be of more rp use than the ability to turn angels, especially when good domain clerics are unable to turn devils.

As for good domain, it would be more balanced to remove their Aura of Courage and replace it with a paladin's Detect Evil.

On a related note, it would be neat if Chaos domain granted Detect Law and Law domain granted Detect Chaos.

Since in NWN2 we dont have domain spells I dont see the turning of outsiders being a problem.

Trust me, I've had it. It sucks. I've never had any 'good guys' summon angels or anything extraplanar to attack me. Also, when attempting to turn the things in the ultra rare occasion that it happens, the very familiar message of "too many hit dice to turn" always comes back, since most goodies are in the top tier bracket of levels, unless they've created an alt.

Don't Clerics get a slot of every single level that they can put any spell in? They get less domain spell variation, sure, but every domain slot is unrestricted, and considering the major powerful Cleric spells tend to be the ones in the default list, they actually get a good deal there.

        Also, *insert further cleric bashing*.

Saving myself for when topic moves onto Favoured Souls though. *primes the cannons*

You do remember how overpowered some of the domain spells are for clerics right? And its not not like any diety was shortchanged; most have a slew of both combat and social spells that fit in with their ethos!

Yeah, I do, but all in all they tend to get a bit less than they do for PnP domains, with the upgrade that they don't -have- to use what they've got.

              I see your point.
