  • Sundren Laws Confusion

    Hello all,

I'm aware that the Wiki is usually right about most stuff, but it seems like the details of the Vellik and Unlawful Worship Acts are out of date.
Would it be possible for someone who knows the specifics to update them to match the current standards in-game?

I've seen more than one RP need to be redone due to misunderstanding there.

    Thanks,
    Kit

Could you be a bit more specific about the Unlawful Worship Act question? As for everything else...

The Wiki page in question was last updated on August 19th, 2011 by a staff member.

The Vellik Act, as listed, is suspended since Sundren is still under martial law.

    Hope that helps.

Heh, Sorry, I guess I missed the light grey text at the bottom then.

To clarify, I'm wondering which deities are unlawful to worship at this time, as I have seen Talosans assisting in the State, and Myrculites wanted for questioning based solely on their religion.
These might be very odd occurances, but it's been confusing me a bit, and hoped someone could shed light on the current theological situation.

      Cheers,
      Kit

"It is unlawful to blaspheme publicly against Helm, the Triumvirate, Waukeen, Tempus, Chauntea, Tymora, Red Knight, Selune, Oghma, and Mystra in all of Sundren. In addition, it is unlawful to blaspheme publicly against Umberlee in Port Avanthyr."

Illegal to worship Talos, Cyric, Talona. Getting caught requires immediation denunciation of faith or else exile. Fail to leave once exile means execution.

And since we're under martial law, anyone worshiping a Black Hand deity is subject to lawful interrogation. Anyone caught openly praying to Bane, preaching about Bane, or otherwise spreading his influence is subject to similar conditions as those caught worshiping Talos et al. You can be a Banite, where his symbology, but you can't talk about it.

Sundren has a lot of laws, and I know some newer Legionnaires aren't as knowledgeable of them - as might be expected of someone who is a junior enlisted grunt. Heck, even I keep the Wiki open so I can quickly review the laws when Emiliana needs to do something that concerns them.

If characters witness something IC that doesn't seem right, then by all means seek out someone who can clarify. However, keep in mind that many of the laws are intentionally vague or open-ended so that there will always be wiggle room on both sides.
