More than once I have been bandaged when a helpful party member slaps on a second weaker bandage that then replaces the one that was already in place. Would it be possible to either block the application of a weaker bandage or put some indicator beside the character portrait indicating a functioning bandage? If possible an indicator could also indicate strength of the current bandage, this would give the helpful party member the option to pick a better bandage or leave yours alone.

I'll just jump in....and add: If you try and apply a bandage too early after combat it shouldnt count as a use since "You can't use a bandage during combat"
And also all that jazz about the heal skill..."Half the lies they tell about me aren't true."

I kind of like both ideas.
A bit off-topic, though, about doing bandaging. I'm still a noob at a lot of this kind of thing, but these seem to make sense.
I always ask if a party member wants a bandage instead of just slapping one on. And what I just learned between yesterday and reading the posts here is that I should RP bandaging myself, ie "*wraps a bandage on his wound*" in-game when I use one.Cheers,
Dave

It takes time to type and my speed is best measured in words/hour not /min.I do not always have time to type an emote, specially if most of the party is heading down the tunnel.
One other thing I would like to suggest, removing hostiles from the permitted use on list.More than once I have hit my hot key and charged a targeted baddie with a bandage, which also more than once has moved me into their range of notice and forced combat I would rather have waited for.

PC "ZOMG I really wants to heelz you gobberwinz!"
Gob1 "Is he running at us with cloth?"
Gob2 "I don't care, shoot him anyway."
Gob1 "But, maybe he's just trying to help us out?"
Gob2 "He's glowing red?! When does someone that's glowing red ever try to just 'help us out'?!"
Gob1 "Right... Probably trying to strangle us. Shoot him then?"
PC is now dead.
