    Funny, that.
    This.

It sucks, because even if you try to keep things secret, like your inventory, stats, build, deity, etc. there are DMs who will deliberately log on, check it, and share the information with others, who share it with others, who share it with others, until everyone knows.

For serious though, if someone is evil it's because they've done some evil things. And when you kill an evil person, considering the context of said kill, it won't be that evil. In fact, it's a paladin's job to scourge the world of evil, and Good Guys feel the need to emulate this.

It was never this bad back when Clive was the only vampire. Now it just seems the Gank Black Hand and KOS Anyone Who Pops Up Evil on the Pallydar is just a by product of vampire hate. And by 'by product of vampire hate' I do mean OOC and IC. The OOC hate for vampires is just as strong as it is IC, and it shouldn't effect IC RP, but it does.

It is evil to kill people solely for showing as evil on a detection, if the situation isn't making them even remotely suspicious. That's generally speaking. It's different if they are a vampire or a demon of some kind. Or if the evil is a monster, or is already hostile/initiated the aggression.

Keeping an eye on them and being a nosy bastard isn't necessarily being evil. It creates better RP than rampant PvP, too. It is also more difficult to thoroughly investigate someone (without resorting to immoral or illegal means) rather than simply killing them off. Then again, being LG is supposed to be hard

! First I've heard of DMs doing that...

DMs should not be doing this. If you have suspicions/proof then please contact one of the lead DMs and the matter shall be addressed. Metagaming is not cool.

Gotta disagree on this... But then, Paladins in FR are (meant to be) a rare thing. They should be seen clopping down the road on their celestial horse, sign of a Paladinish God clearly emblazoned all over their stuff. They're the people that Evil guys will see coming, and get away from, or, if they're badass enough, murder.

Then again, evil should be a far clearer thing, too.

Paladins have the class abilities to Detect Evil, and Smite Evil. Clerics are the ones that get Redemption and such. Many Paladin God dogma's have lines to the effect of 'Strike forcefully at the rot in the hearts of men'. Scan-Smite Paladins are literally just following the orders of their Gods, perhaps a bit mindlessly, but nonetheless, it's what they're meant to do.

Just as Blackguards scan for good, then smite it.
Running across the mountains, attacking with an oversized scalpel, cometh Helga Great-Wyrm! And she gives a mighty bellow:
"Brace yourself, oh human speck of dust! You are made of meat and I am very hungry!"

One could argue that to murder said evil people is evil, but most PC's who kill evil people for the sole reason of being evil don't consider it murder - they consider it removing evil from the land. Which is what paladins do, seek and destroy that which is evil. I think this is what most people who aren't paladins use as their IC excuse to justify their actions. Like it's been said, you can't be evil unless you've done something evil.

Ever since then I have been told I am "Black Hand" and "A asshole" and, "I don't like you" and "I am gonna kill you." >.>

So..... Your telling me I am the cause of my own demise for beign known as a Banite? Was I really suppose to expect lvl 15+'s traveling through a lvl 6 - 10 zone? I had on a mask but a guy I knew recognized my hair and voice... So I mean, just tell me right now if I should remake a character so I can play this server Cause I like being a Banite and Blackhand, but I am not gonna run around doing nothing simply because EVERYONE has the right to kill a Banite as long as no one saw anthing.

Edit: The whole point I put this thread up, is because people SHOULDN'T have to rely on buffers or tanks anyhow. In fact, I understand this is ment to be a party/RP server... But how the hell are banites supposed to do anything? Expecially with the fact that NO ONE and I mean NO ONE fears them.

                      Could someone put on rules:
All Banites: Do not join the Black Hand or acknowladge you are a Banite, unless you are level 17+. Wearing Banite armor also lets people know you are Black Hand.
Sure I am griefing, but oh well....
Considering my character is the Legionnaire mentioned, I want to address this post and the subsequent posts that support it.

                      1. Your Banite character and another were caught near the Legion camp wearing the known Black Hand armor. From the Wiki's section concerning laws: As with all places of the era, enforcement of the law is more often than highly dependent upon expediency, practical relevance, and convenience. For instance, petty thugs roaming in the backstreets may receive limited spotlight from law enforcement, but murderous bandits in the heart of a Sundarian marketplace would likely be dealt with swiftly and harshly, where one may expect the enforcers of law to take on the combined role of judge and executioner.

                      2.
The Black Hand is considered an enemy of the state of Sundren. "Wanted dead or alive for unlawfully worshiping an evil god without registration, murder, and blackmail."

                      3. Your character and the other present were given multiple chances to come with us for further questioning. You refused. In fact, you started a monologue about the Vellik Act, and none of us were in the mood for filibustering.

                      4. There was a DM present for the entire exchange. No one OOC 'bullied' your character; there is no need to 'have it out' with me or anyone else in /tells. There is also no need to continue the complaint on the forums, because such complaints are typically one-sided and get others rallied when rallying isn't warranted.

                      5. Lastly, again from the Wiki: -Level discrepency has no bearing on PVP. High levelers can PVP with low levelers (sic). Considering that we were heading to the Spider Caves to get some silk for Emiliana's tailoring needs, we had every right to be in the area.

You and your companion were simply caught in a bad place at a bad time. Chalk it up to a 'damn it!' moment and use it to fuel IC conflict. Inferring that the people involved on the other side are 'gankers', 'not good players', and engaging in 'very poor RP' really irritates me. There is always another side to every story.

I could be missing it, but I didn't see him say or suggest any of the above.

EDIT: I see you mentioned subsequent posts, as well.

I don't think the word 'ganker' was meant so much as in direct response to his situation, but a general sign of frustration to the very long on-going exchange between good and evil.
Good is ganking evil pretty viciously right now, and evil has countless times ganked good.
It's been back and forth since the days before Cirion was gay. No, really.

Is it still legal to worship Bane if you register?

                          I want to roll a Bane-fearer now.

The Black Hand will punish all! By His side, not in His path! Repent your actions against His leadership! Bane! Bane! Bane! Have mercy on the heretics, the infidels, for they know not Your power!

I notice that everyone behaves when I'm online. Perhaps I should take some time off, let you all perm each other, and return triumphantly.

Also, Bane won't have a cleric that worships him only because he's afraid of what will happen if he doesn't. Clerics zealously promote a god's ideals because they believe in them.

Why not rogue? That is exactly the sort of thing I think Bane would promote. He wants to propagate FEAR. All Bane's followers SHOULD follow him because they fear him! He is the only thing they should fear. Least that is my take on him.

I think Root has a fun and fresh take on something that has not been explored on the server. At least to my knowledge. Anyway Root's Banite stands a good chance of converting an entirely new demographic NEVER a bad thing deifically (made up word) speaking.
