So i was checking out how much it takes to craft armor, and i noticed it takes almost 13k gold to get a fullplate mold. I think that is interesting considering regular fullplate can be bought for around 3k. I know a new crafting system is in the works, but bieng able to buy armor for less than the cost of the mold just doesnt make sense.

First I will give you a simple solution, then I will ramble.
Solution:
Step One -Find another that has already shelled out 13k for a FP mold.
Step Two -Become friends, rent their mold or kill them for it.
The Ramble:
As I understand things, the cost of the mold is supposed to include the R&D costs. It represents more than just a mold. If you have ever made a suit of plate armor you would know that you don't even you a mold... but the equipment you need does add up to a substantial amount.
Two things to consider:
1- I think that you can buy SCA style plate armors for around 500 USD. A drill press, a good one, pretty essential for modern armor-smithing, costs around 1000 USD. And, that is just one of the tools you would need.
2- Sundren is not able to account for research time/cost. I have asked. So the default model is GP cost. That is why you buy scrolls, but can't research new spells. Or even research new craft recipes. You have to find, buy, or trade for them.
I know GBX is working hard on the new crafting system and I think many things will change. I hope to see the ability to create recipes (like the cooking system) But really we will just have to wait an see.
Maybe GBX will comment or give us a sneak peak at what he is working on. Perhaps there is a more constructive method for craft critics/suggestion.
But gholaman, if you want true mind-blowing frustration grab Brew Potion and watch you GP plummet. Want to make a pot of cure light? That will be 250 please! WHAT!? Yeah that's right near 1000% the cost of buying one at the corner shop.

You are right, some prices are absolutely ridiculous. I just remember that I was wondering about the "Alchemist's Fire" (the improved version giving 1D8 damage when thrown at the enemy) and it's price 250 GC just to make it. I can't imagine the crazy witch who would spend such an amount of gold and other necessary ingrediences just in exchange for 1D8 damage.
To create such recipe is in my eyes waste of precious time of all WB, because seriously nobody will ever create/use these things.Kili - mercenary of the Blackwood Company

I have to add something as an example. If I want to buy healing potion (the big one what heals me for 40 HP) I have to spend 281 coins exactly to buy one. If the crafting system would allow me to buy the same potion from the player for 250 coins and give the crafswoman a chance to earn with such a price I would bet, that there will by much more craftswomen than now. Thank you for reading.Kili - mercenary of the Blackwood Company

Cost for imp.alch.fire is 250 for 5 units. FYI.
I crunched numbers each bottle costs just a little less than you could buy it for in the store. Especially if you find some to the materials like fairy dust etc... and don't have to pay marked up prices for them.
It works better as a flame weapon though the duration is SOOO short. *sigh*
