  • Lockable Doors

If I unlock a door I'd like to be able to re-lock it, I'd also like to see doors that initially may not be locked, but can be locked.

For example the tavern door, common sense would say there's a lock on the door even though it's not locked all the time. The purpose? Say I'm tracking someone and I want to have a "talk" with them, lock the exits and do what I will.

Bad example the crypt doors, aside from perhaps the first door to detour grave robbers there's not going to be a lock on any doors inside so there'd be no need to add this option.

A good idea maybe for crypt doors is strength checks, pushing slabs out of the way to gain access. This would give those strengthbased anti-magic classes some door opening fun as well.

Not going to happen. Public areas are public. You locking the door means other people can't get in too. And it also ignores the fact that NPCs in the area may object.

There's already bashable doors for people who can't lockpick. As for being lockable, the doors that are locked in various locations should be lockable.

However we do not want to make all the other doors lockable because then people can do stupid things like locking random doors everywhere for no real reason.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Just out of interest, how do you lock a door IG?

On some doors, if you right click them, there will be an option to set locked.

The only reason why I could see an advantage to this is if you were in a situation where you needed a target to go through a certain door, assuming there were multiple entrances...

It could prove strategic to funnel enemies into a single door rather than letting them enter through several. I can't really think though of any instances in Sundren that would use this sort of situation.

I always forget the stupid factor. I suppose if someone ever wanted to do something to this effect one would just shoot a message to the DMs online and make some good spectated Rp. Add it to the dead horse list! (which I did check before posting)
