  • Moving Certain Banner Drop-Off Points?

    Hi

I know this has been brought up before, but I can't seem to find the thread, so gonna start a new one.

I keep hearing how tough it is to get banners turned in by certain factions due to having to walk through tons of transitions to get to their bases. I know most of the ones I actively use are very easy to get to (Thayan, Exigo, Arbiters), but Legion and Black Tax are just wat the hells out of the way during normal adventuring/RPing. The first three can easily pop in from a transition and be back to continue RPing or adventuring with the party. The latter two get to spend an absurd amount of time to do the exact same thing due to all the walking/transitioning. I have no idea about Veritas or the Wardens as I don't have toons in either and never really hear anything about it from the people I hang with, so they may need some love, too.

Is there any possibility of getting the drop-offs changed to be either near a transition point (at least in a transitionable map area) or at least closer to one?

Yeah, the blacktax one is an absolute nightmare unless you happen to be a monk. Its waaayy of the way, especially for Eboncoin agents!

Seems like you'd have more chance of someone seeing you do it if it was close to a transition point. Aren't those organizations supposed to be kind of under the radar?

For awhile the Black Tax drop off point was the mountain crossroad area by Aquor, which was great. If the Legion banner drop off could be moved to the City Watch or something in the city that would great, though. Right now we have to run all the way down Pioneer's Wa tot he Gate of the Sunderer, then run all the ways back.

I dont see a problem with having to run all the way to the gate to drop a flag off. the amount of interesting RP i've come across while doing so is astounding.

Well...don't think the Legion is supposed to be under the radar If they are, they are doing a crappy job with all those dudes in Legion armor running around and stationed everywhere

Some of the members, maybe...but not the whole faction.

But, as far as the Black Tax guys go, it isn't very much a sneaky thing to have to run up through a metric shit ton of Cartel guys that just let you go past, wave, and say "Mornin', Bob" as you go through. If anyone is there (and face it...almost no one leaves their searchable on any more, so no telling if anyone is around when you start up), you are found out anyway due to them not attacking you. Not really much difference in dropping it off at the top or at the bottom. Bottom is even a little more sneaky since you can pop in, check to see if anyone is in the area, then if the coast is clear, run up to the rest area and plant it real quick. Since you can not decide to drop the banner or not just based on who is present (it auto-drops, so your toon simply runs past all his goody-goody party and plants the banner like yelling "hey guys...look how great a cartel/eboncoin/whatever agent I am, and how sneaky...oh, wait...um..."

I don't mind the Legion one as much anymore after it was explained IC that the Legion wants to display their might to everyone entering the Valley. It made IC sense then, and I accepted it.

However, I do wish that choosing to transition to the Gate of the Sunderer actually took people there instead of the Pioneer Way before the GotS zone. The run back to the Crossroads will still suck, but at least some time would be reduced if we spawned at the Gate itself.

Of course, some people just use their nifty crystal things to get back closer to a World Transition. If Santa wanted to hand out a few of those for Christmas, I know I certainly would not mind.

The current crystals have a limited number of charges. So don't even think of it on getting one and wasting it on that. You could consider selling your sould for one of the old ones. But it doubt anybody is stupid enough to exchange an old crystal for a useless soul.

And I think I have about nine pages of inventory filled with the old style crystals with one of my naturey goons. Anyone got a soul for trade?
