  • Respawn Timer Increase

Propose making it 30-60 min Real Time, this prevents people, such as myself, who would respawn immediatly. This would amount to three to six hours Sundren Time and enough time would pass for the incident to have been either forgotten or completely resolved.

I would suggest it for just PvP deaths but that would mean rescripting instead of a variable change.

I don't know. It would be easier on the DEV Team to just stay away from where you were killed. They work for free, after all.

A 30 to 60 minute timer will just make characters like Ruby and Clive feel bad ooc when a level 10 Paladin charges at them.

And I would disagree, incidents do not normally resolve themselves in three to six hours of Sundren time.

      this.

It shouldn't take a lot for people to gather that it's polite RP to not go tromping back to the spot you were at when you died, five minutes after said death.
Sometimes someone new does it, and it's a mild incident, but only very rarely that I've encountered is this a problem.

        Very well

Then I suggest the unwritten rule be written

Still I am going to disagree on the entire notion since there is only a limited selection of locations to actually go and if I am playing a char I'm usually playing that char because I don't want to play my other char's and I'm not going to sit around in the fen just becuase its more convenient for everyone else(unless I get a tell from someone saying they are going to res me).

That's pretty selfish of you, actually.
The campfire isn't the only decent place to be.
As a matter of fact, I usually avoid going there, due to the jumble and mixture of awkward adventurers that somehow appear there for hours on end with nothing else to do.
And I manage to find RP elsewhere.

Noone is saying you have to sit around in the FEN, rather that you just don't go waltzing back into where you were at the moment before you died.
Being away from the hotzone for an hour isn't that much to ask for, really, and you're promoting RP when you play death (or being beaten to a pulp) like it was actually something notable.

Not to nit pick, but you suggested the notion that CvC deaths be left in the FEN for 30min to an hour, not anyone else. In fact, the above posters disagreed entirely.

When it comes to RP, you have to understand that there are other people behind other characters. This isn't single player where its you vs. NPCs.

Taking into account your own RP actions and the consequences of such is all a part of the wonderful fun that is RP. And if those actions get your character killed, then the least you can do is RP it out and not pretend like it didn't happen.

Also, the Second Wind Inn is not the only viable place for RP. The better RP happens in the wilderness, where half the server isn't present and watching.

AGREE, however...there is rarely anyone away from the inn, and no-one in their right mind camps out in the mossdale, which is the only bit of wilderness Seb has any business in.

If there is a rule being enforced, weather its considered mere politness or not, it should be written down.

I take rules very literally, and I was not breaking one (twice I might add) and it has caused an incident.

Everyone seems to think it is a rule anyway so write it down.

If you're suggesting that the DEV and DM team hold your hand and make a written rule for every common courtesy, you've got a rough ride ahead of you.

There's no 'written' rule that states you don't know a Character's name when you first meet them, but we all take this as a part of RP fundamentals. We've all made mistakes. I've made mistakes (which Philosopher and Doubtful love to point out. Continually.) Apply that same concept with what you've gathered from this experience. Take it with a grain of salt, a cigarette, miller lite, and some Chipotle ... then, move on.

Something else that people should remember is this is a game. Its a place to get away from RL and have fun. When it gets to the point of not having fun then people need to step away and go do something else. People on this server just need to learn common sense. Something that seems to be lost on most.
