  • Archery Costs

A lot of issues with archery being a bit underpowered but a key thing that's easy to address is the sheer cost of arrows in some cases. I'm looking at a set of arrows that do a mere +1 bludgeoning damage and theirdescription basicaly describes them as fowling or quailling arrows like wise the crescent arrows which basically sound like frog crotches do +1 slashing. 1361 per stack.

Like holy god damn, seriously over 13 gold an arrow just to go bird hunting and not totally destroy the bird. Or more prudent in adventuring circles, do a single point of guaranteed bashing damage to the unending horde of undead the countryside is littered with.

Could the prices on arrows get a look into because holy crap not only is archery an underperformer it's also ungodly expensive and it'd be nice if one of those got addressed.

I'll take a look. Any chance you can help out with a listing of arrows you feel are overpriced.

Usually this happens because someone adds an added cost to the arrow without realizing it'll be multiplied by every arrow in the stack.

Hm, perhaps with nonmagical arrows that do extra damage (+1), the stack could be treated as a Masterwork weapon, which would be +600gp on top of the base price of the item.

It's still expensive, but is considerd core.

to be completely honest I'm not too familiar with all the associated costs with an arcer character, at the moment I'm scouting prices mostly but those two really stuck out heh. They're mundane items that were pretty common among huntsmen in the middle ages and it just seemed odd that a quiver of like fowling arrows would net you more than a team of draft horses.

The cost of arrows is one of the reasons i don't play archer toons.

I remember playing an archer once. The price of arrows is what made me stop, not how underpowered they are.

There are quite a few hostile NPC archers out there. Perhaps have them drop more arrows?

I don't think archers are underpowered, if you make them right. I have had and have an archer, that especially vs. non-undead, do incredible damage and can kill from a distance, thereby not taking much damage if any.

However, I have to agree, arrows are pretty expensive, especially the ones that do 1 pt. magical. They are about $2500 stags for 99 arrows. Now, they do the same damage as most swords that cost around 4500 stags, but you only have to buy the sword once. An archer with scattershot and rapid shot can go through 99 arrows pretty damn quick.

Also, trying to find arrows such as cold iron arrows, which would make archers at least functional around undead and such, is impossible (at least I can't find them, probably in a faction store I can't acces).

I was hoping that you could consolidate arrows at the archery place in trade tier and maybe ranger place, that way all the arrows that can be bought are accessible without having to join a certain faction.

Oh, and a price decrease could be great!
