  • Colibrus factions store

Not sure if it's a bug or not. But the Colibrus Faction store in the Wynter estate. Rep requirements are for the Children of Colibrus Faction, Not the Blackhand Child of Colibrus sub faction. as my rep with the black hand does not let me use there items on a Pc.

Uh, thats a problem, I think. The items should be using the Children of Colibrus subfaction of the Black Hand. Players are not joined to the "Children of Colibrus" main faction, so these items can't be used by players as they are.

The only way to gain access to the items are if you are given Colibrus faction rep by a DM. That was usually handled by GBX from what I have seen.

I don't think this has been clarified. The issue here is that there are TWO Children of Colibrii aspects under the reputation menu. One is a CHILDREN OF COLIBRUS faction, which was primarily used for monsters and enemy npcs. Another was added under the BLACK HAND, so that players could join the Black Hand, and also be Children of Colibrii.

When a Colibrii player joins the Children of Colibrus, they join "Black Hand, Children of Colibrus subfaction." They do NOT join THE CHILDREN OF COLIBRUS as seen on the rep menu, they join the subfaction under the BLACK HAND. The faction store in the Wyntir estate should have items with rep requirements for the Black hand, Children of Colibrus, so players can make use of them. It should NOT have rep requirements for the CHILDREN OF COLIBRUS primary. But it does, so Talley's character cannot make use of them, but he should, given that he is a Colibrii.

To clarify further, this is the precise fix that needs to be done:

Change all items in the Colibrus Faction Store as follows:

Change rep requirement Children of Colibrus to:

            Black Hand; Children of Colibrus.

Then players can use the items as they should be.

              No misunderstanding.

There's no such thing as subfaction rep. You gain reputation in your faction, and your faction rep determines your rank in your subfaction.

I asked when I tagged the items about this specifically and was told that the Colibrus store was meant to be basically a bonus store accessible by those who'd proven themselves to Colibrus and received DM granted Rep.

Ah, I see. I understood about the subfaction rep, I just thought it was all mislabelled.

Really, that store is a "bonus store?" Have you seen those items?

Wait, so the Colibrus doesn't have a subfaction store? They only have this "dm-granted rep only bonus store?" That seems rather odd. So Colibrites only have access to the Black Hand General Store.

Colibrus is meant as a bonus store, yes. Some people have had a lot of rep with the group. The rep was given based off player incentive to get involved with these side-line allies of the Black Hand and to date has been generally RP oriented and not grindable in any shape or fashion.

Hence why it does not use the Black Hand rep. It's working as intended.

No offense meant, but when I played Kane I didn't really see anything in that store worth wanting that rep for besides a cloak that marked you as a Colibrii. If it is meant as a Bonus store I think it should have more Colibrus oriented gear and maybe some more powerful items. Much of it was duplicate from the Banite store. Perhaps it could be looked at in the future.

These are my thoughts. The Colibrii have no faction-specific store like everyone else (except the Whurest). Then there is this supposed "bonus store" which, quite frankly, sucks. There are just a few nifty items in there... with a faction rep so impossibly high that normal rep flag grinding and donations can barely reach within months of time, nevermind a DM handing out rep which is rare enough as it is, and is not nearly as consistent as the above methods.

In my opinion, the idea of a bonus store is unfair anyway, since no other faction gets such a thing. I would recommend we simply populate that store with some better gear, and make it a subfaction access store like everything else.

Ain't you a DM? I just said what the intent -was- not what it will be. No need to be so mean about it

I didn't make the items myself, also. It was meant to have more of an assassin/vampire theme, but I don't know what items are there.

There was plans to put bonus stores elsewhere.

ALSO, everyone involved with Colibrus was NOT involved with Black Hand, and at the time this was also true. There were people who just hooked up with the vamps, got involved, got rep, and it was a reward.

There was tons of ideas that never met fruition, such as Blood of each of Colibrus children available and the like.

I'm not against changing it or removing it.
