    Though 4th edition is an abomination, it has a lot of feats for pure fighters to take that would make them the epitome of melee masters here, as in they'd actually exceed a buffed cleric/favored soul if they were similarly buffed.

    It's stuff like "Armor Specialization" that gives the fighter DR and dodge bonuses to AC when wearing the appropriate armor and Weapon-Type Mastery that grants bonus damage and dodge ac when using the chosen weapon type, and these feats typically require heavy investments into the fighter class itself. A lot of the benefits are passive, so there'd be less chance of something going terribly wrong.

    Know you guys have a lot on your plate, not expecting any sort of turn around. Just getting the info out there.

    I agre that the pure fighter is always a weak character compared to most other classes at high level. In most NWN2 worlds I have played on if you cant stone skin and death ward you die against every mob over level 10. Quite often we see foes you need a +1 weapon to beat even at low levels mages and clerics cast minor magic weapon the fighter dies horribly.

    While 2nd eddition rules had a lot of flaws such as the who multi class issue it did have it right where only the fighter got mutliple attacks around which meant they kept kicking ass on later levels.

    On a low magic world fighters need all the help they can get.

      It's a cool idea, but I don't have any clue how to make custom feats or script at all... so it's a matter of if the DEVs have time and such to donate toward this.

        I think I might be able to figure it out. Read a few tutorials about it. You staffers mull it over, and if you think want to go forward, we'll talk which ones to include, and I'll proceed with self-education.

          personally there are already ways around that the DEv's have already added feats that can add ac from dodges and DR. + with all the new traps being worked out that can dispel and affect casters, i have a feeling the melee class will be becomming useful again. No longer will caster walk through everything without fear.

          "omg what happens if i get dispelled from the traps" should be something caster will soon say and for good reason. Gives the melee classes reason, Taking it back to pnp.

            Well, no. A fighter without buffs is still a speedbump in the zones that have dispel traps. Also, let this be the last comment about "effectiveness" and "balance." This is the Suggestions forums, and I made a suggestion. That's as far as it needs to go.
