  • New Area/Tavern

What is a natural evolution of another topic on the boards, I got to thinking of what a good idea another tavern/area is, to more solidly endorse a meeting hub for players, of various factions and characteristics.

Another tavern. I know, I know. People groan, and say, "Why do we need another one?! There're lots of them! Two in Sundren, and another right outside the gate! Then there's another in Aquor, another in Sestra, and another at Avanthyr!

And you would be right, naturally. There are a lot of taverns. But, all of these taverns are situated in positions that are heavily influenced, to some degree, by Law.

What about a new area that's placed upon the road between the Gate of the Sunderer and the actual city of Sundren? It'd be a small map, no doubt, rather like the Crossroads, but focusing on an area just surrounding a tavern, that's used more as a rest stop for the many merchants traveling in and out of Sundren for commerce.

It creates a more neutral area for even players to meet up, as generally speaking, such places aren't exactly family friendly in the first place, like Exigo would most likely want to be.

The enterprising establisher of said venue could even be quite the greedy individual, more interested in making coin for his establishment than just admitting 'hoighty toighty' customers.

Just a suggestion. It does give an area for everyone to meet up that isn't necessarily just a small campfire out in the boondocks, but an actual establishment, but while also not being overburdened with strict law enforcement.

Addendum: I have no ridiculous assumptions that the Devs/Mappers have oodles of free time to just throw at any project suggested to them, so even if it's considered a good idea (or even just tolerable), I do understand that it's likely it'd be some time before it could even be possibly looked at in a serious manner. As I'm sure the staff have many projects already in the works.

There's a general need for more lawless areas. I've suggested in the past that I'd like to see a "road" map (like the valley road for instance) separating every lawful area from the world map (meaning you have to pass through two unguarded road areas to get from one city to another).

The problem however is resources, we've got very high standard for maps on this server (if you've been to other servers I think you'll notice the drastic difference in detail and quality of Sundren's maps), and only one dedicated mapper (everyone send Maev some kudos). Another inn would be amazing, and maybe we'll see it, but it all comes down to what resources we can spare.

And on the contrary we need one really luxury looking place. I spent last time in Sundren Comfort Inn and I can't really say, that it looks like a place for us, rich and important members of local society.

I would like to beg for luxury looking Inn directly in Aquor. I think the houses there are suitable for the interier what uses the temple of Sun, which I like very much by the way, but I feel, I'm not too welcome there. Just a feeling.

Would that be possible too? Plaeeeese?

Thank you for reading. And if you are young, rich and handsome man looking for lovely girlfriend, meet me. This is not an advertisement! (ask for Lilly)

But... even if it's wtihin the valley, doesn't mean it is covered by the law? I mean... someone get in the valley and need to walk from the gate to the city, they take a road where there is an inn on the way. Shouldn't all of this area be under the law?

Just because it's under control of the law de jure doesn't mean it's under control of the law de facto.

You can't expect the Legion to patrol every inch of the valley.
