  • Daily server reset countdown

Hey, just wanted to ask if a countdown for the daily server reset could be implemented. Thanks

A 10 or 15 minute warning would be nice... I've forgotten it every time except one where GBX said he needed to restart, but would wait for the daily reboot instead...
    Thumbs up.

Seems like a waste of time seeing that your character is auto-saved when the server reboots anyway.

        Apart from the mechanics...
It would be nice to have the heads-up so you know to wrap up what you're doing, unless you really want to pick up in the middle of where you left off.

I just stuck an alarm in my cell phone that dings a couple times thirty and fifteen minutes before reset. If I'm in bed sleeping I don't even notice it.

It reboots at the same time every day... I think people can keep track of time themselves.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Can you remind us in GMT what time it resets so we can set things to hang fire mode

Server resets at 1AM EST, which is 6AM GMT. But, I could be wrong if it has changed.

It was laggy and reset during the day yesterday, but I thought it was because GBX was making some updates...

You can usually tell whether it was a controlled reset rather than a lagout/server crash by the message that your "Server-side character has been saved".

If you see that, it was scheduled/planned. If you get a timed out message, then it likely was not.

You could for example set your Windows Clock / cell phone / alarm to give you an alarm around the right time.

It is probably a ton less work that scripting it into the module and may be done in the time it takes to write this very message

The server resets at 1am Est/Edt. Remember this, figure out what that means in your local time, commit the relevant time to memory, and all will be well.

I know it's at 7am , I know this. I remember this every single day... It's just that time flies when you're having fun.

Why are YOU going to code it?

NWN2 runs on its own time system.

We can read windows time, however set intervals have to be read off of real time.

The extra scripting required and checks in the mod is simply not worth it for something people can track themselves.
