beards are fun and there are only, what, three dwarven heads? although I wouldn't mind some new human skulls as well, seeing that 66 percent or so of the player characters are human.

After the game, the king and the pawn go into the same box.

The BEARDS have been a frustration of mine for a long time. As most of you know most of my toons (and I tend to have many) are dwarves. My biggest problem is not with the lack of selection but the utter lack of any connecting facial hair between the beard and the hairline.. what they can't grow in the CHOPS? Seriously it is no wonder these dwarves are in sundren, they were laughed out of their clan holds long time ago for inability to grow a proper hair-suit.

There are a few barely acceptable combinations... for the most part we just take what we can and run with it. But yeah new beards would be cool.

Oh why did I not notice this before...

The beard pack has been updated in April 2010, and now contains a second beard themed after Oghren in Dragon Age. The first looks similar to one of those from The Witcher. These seem to be the only decent beards available. Kudos to v3par!

I have just now downloaded and tested both beards in standard NWN2. Both animate well. The textures and colors for both match with at least one of the standard hair models, so a consistently themed dwarf can be made with both. The new beard model looks much more satisfactory than any other beard available, even if the chin is just stubble.

Clipping with chest and armor models is well within acceptable limits.

The files are only 836k compressed.

As per the nwvault entry, the files and models provided only work as-is with Shield Dwarves.

The only reason I can see to consider not getting this pack would be concerns about clashing stylistically with the server's current theme and dwarf models. My personal opinion is that they do not clash, and that the benefits of a fuller, healthier beard far outweigh any trivial differences in style. My own bias is obvious, of course.

I heartily recommend and request it's inclusion.

That first beard shot looks like something alive!

The supplied files are only for Shield Dwarf males as-is.

The screenshots do not fully do them justice. To try them out for yourself, just download both sets of files in the link, place all the files in your override directory, then fire up NWN2 and Create a Character in the Original Campaign or a SP module.
