There any chance that tinkerers will eventually have the chance too make manacles too hold people , obviously ranging from different hardness too break strength wise, and lock pick wise.

Would be quite fun too actually capture someone if you knock them uncon with subdual then manacle them and their dex goes to 0 and they go on auto follow till you take them off the person.

I like the idea in principle, but a system like that would be open to so much abuse it almost defies belief.

On the other hand... Maybe Sundren could do with a slaver outpost...

I dont feel something like this would be abused. Most of the players on sundren are mature enough too understand that you dont just go up too every person and beat the crap out of them and slap iron on their wrists.

And on the idea of slavery , it would be very intresting if a said person began capturing children and using them in mines too fund there unknown ore buisiness...cheap labor, omg i got caught well now your in there stuck as well till you can figure a way out. a theif see's large quantities of gold being mines from a old shaft, he goes and finds children mining while being locked by the ankles, and a elf that he knew used too live in sundren!
He returns and finds help too get the men and children out, but gets captured and has too use his lockpicking skills too free himself. but only after hiding his lockpicks from search.

^this is the kinda stuff im talkin about. yes its simple i just wnted too put a quick idea out there .

perhaps the longer you are in the manacles you gain a + too lockpicking them if you continue too try?

Weighing the abuse vrs great rp, i feel the manacles would outweigh in the rp section.

The veritas with there hostages, the Legion with there prisoners. Hells we would not have too have dm's on all the time too aid us in some of the greatest rp moments of when people are captured.
one of the things sundren pushes is too make character conflicts possible without dm intervention. our stories too contine without always having too have a dm present.

These could definetly make a huge difference.

The way to escape from manacles/bonds is escape artist, not lockpicking

Though, as doubtful says, it is too open for abuse. Simply relying on the community not to abuse at all is a bad idea; there are people who will try to sabotage the server if they become frustrated with something and are about to quit, as a ban won't harm them then anyway. Or punks from 'rival' servers logging on and creating a character specifically for the purpose of annoying the player base here.

It's a cool idea in theory, but I really do think that allowing to haul people around to places they'd surely get killed is a step too far. Grapple is as good as it gets. For the rest - as you already do say you rely on the good of the community - you can just RP it out using Use Rope and Escape Artist checks

I'm worried about abuse as well Subal, but I have to confess that this is a nice idea. Perhaps we can make them Legion-only items lol.

Though it may be best in the end to leave manicles for dungeons and cells.

i would see no problem with that , although maby some Rope added for normal people too do similar ,could have a much lower Dc too get out of or even cut with a hidden knife.
