How about the devoted defender? is that class even in 3.5E?

It was the premier pious tanking prestige class in 3E! Much love

More Necromancers? No thanks Most played wizard on Sundren is necromancer. Dread Evoker for the win.
Apparently they work their magic on the forums, too.

True Necromancers are however, not lame-ass wizards who pick the best school for better DCs, they are sweet-ass Mystic Theurge-like worshippers of perhaps Myrkul! Hint hint, nudge nudge. Now code them before everyone loses interest in Myrkul.

True Necromancers are also a borked class that would require a massive amount of custom-retooling to even be comparable to Mystic Theurge.

Cant you just make a mystic theurge of Mykul? Animate Dead at second spell level and empowered harm spells sounds like a fine deal to me

I find it oddly coincidental that there is such interest in a necromancer PRC in a necro-ed thread!

Suggestion pages are like elves; they dont start to age untill they are nearly dead! But I do agree it looks like a conspiracy -.-

This thread needs cleansing with fire.

I hardly see this as a necrotic thread.. it seems redundant to make a new thread entitled "new prestige class suggestions" just because no one has posted in a while....

anyway we were told along time ago and many times that new PRC is not on the menu.. so most of this thread is just flatulence in a stiff wind..

Yep, no worries on posting here. I just was being punny.

Adding a new class is not easy though, even if it is easy to translate to the game, so I point the finger more at Obsidian to come up with something, and I doubt they would choose Firewalker.
A couple new feats with requirements of a follower of Kossuth, cleric and/or monk... would allow one to shape their char into one.

YES! That would be awesome. Dex fighters can not hold their own at mid to high levels!

                        • If you give them swashbuckler levels they can

Either that or have a strength over 13 for power attack; a ranger with a favoured power attack can be pretty deadly. Especially if the amount of attacks offsets the amount of AB loss. (going by the theory that two attacks have more chances of hitting than a single one since you get two 'random' rolls)

                          • Tempest, Minstrel of the Blade, and Occult Slayer.

Though I disagree that dex fighters cannot hold their own. They are just a little harder to make. Dual wielding bards can be deadly. At higher lvls, their Inspire Courage would give +3 dmg, they can cast Cat's Grace, Haste, and Greater Heroism. Splash three lvls of Swashy and choose Fox's Cunning as one of your spells and you can easily add another 4-5 dmg to each attack. And the ranger example given above is another example of a good potential build.

Then there is the super-annoying parry build. Takes some lvls to pull off, but if you build it right and give them the right items, you can be almost untouchable against any melee build (at least in one-on-one). I saw one person do this on the server. (I don't believe he's here anymore) Clerics, druids, weapon masters, frenzied berserkers, he just parried and countered virtually every attack. He hated fighting casters though.. or at least casters that required him to rely upon will saves.

                              • Ursus isn't a Dex based fighter...he just happens to have a slightly higher DEX than STR to use the dual weapons.

I would absolutely love to see the Tempest brought in from the nwn1 mods. But, they were so over-powered it was pathetic (at high levels). Good AB+ TONS of attacks = a powerhouse. I think mine had 8 (maybe 10 after the lvl cap was changed on the server I played on) attacks with a high AB (perfect 2-weapon fighting...or something like that...gave the same attacks with the off hand as with the main one). That feat alone was worth losing the shield AC (especially when you got a wiz or cleric to hang with you for buffing).
