Mining loot box alteration

When mining: the successfully mined ore is placed in the lootable temporary window . Due to an issue me and Blackhammer had this morning he accidentally pressed esc instead of clicking loot all and the sucessfully mined vein temporary box closed and the 4 pyrite and bloodstone were lost. Is there anyway that these are dropped at the persons feet or into thier inventory in the event they close the box before looting? Was disheartening to lose the ore, but still incurr the fatigue for poor Branan.

I know it is likely only a one time event, but to prevent others from the same error perhaps we could change what happens when its not looted.
