  • Restable Fires

There are some camp fires in the module that you cannot rest at but really seem like safe accomodating rest points.

The main one I can think of is in the legion outpost by the Shild mountains.

There are all manner of Clinicus about and places to sit out of the rain around that fire and it's easily as accomodating as it's sister campfire in the viridale outpost.

Maybe this rest point was disabled for reasons regarding people going up the mountain, getting the stuffing beat out of them, coming back down, resting and trying again. Bad practice maybe but all it means is that people travel quickly to the Exigo trade post or sharahan hills campfires, rest quickly and zoom back which is just bizzarre from an IC point of view.

We have armour changing timers now so the whizzing back and forwards is a little inhibited. Perhaps worth considering.

Although it would be good to have that fire as a rest point, I think the fact that it's basically a war zone, it's probably not as restful as it might look like. I don't think many people could sleep or concentrate to well with the THWUNK of catapults and trebuchets being lunched and the reverse incoming.

Schild Mountain fire used to be a rest point. It was disabled due to its ease of use by grinding parties. Same reason the Temple of Kelemvor in Necropolis was burned to the ground.

For reasons already mentioned, resting spaces such as that one won't be put (back) in. It's not really up for debate...

Perhaps just get rid of the fire then? It's a pain, you want to RP it as the point to rest because it is the natural rest point in the area for reasons of good RP but because you can't rest up properly there all you have is everybody resting out in the no-mans land! or running half way accross the server OOCly to rest properly.

Messing with good roleplay didn't stop the grinding i'm afraid. *cough*

You can rest every 10 minutes.

If you're "RPing" a rest, as in talking and chatting with people while unbuttoning your armor and perhaps lying down in a tent, you should easily beat that timer. If you've just walked back into camp after fighting up in the mountains, I don't see why you'd need to go straight back out again before 10 minutes are up.

Maybe you got beat down and you need a rest to be able to go back and finish those gits off... before the respawn...

Oh bugger it, I got PWNt.

You win, stuff the fire. Stupid fire. When the Aurilians come all the fires are gonna become big blue glowing ice cubes anyhow.

              MWAHAHAAaaaa.... *expires*

                If it's not a rest point, there's a reason.

Good suggestion, but it's been brought up before (by me as a player long ago! )

Thanks for the suggestion, but as they said this is purposefully left unrestable.
