  • Warlock Crusade: Alyrian

The noble judicator, Hano Fetten, could be seen leaving the Triumvirate with a straight expression and determined look. He would send letters to those involved in the Arbiter's Alliance and pay the city criers two to ten staggs each if they would help spread the word of his upcoming announcement..

With that done, he would erect a podium in the central area of the Trade Tier and begin his public announcement.

"Citizens of Sundren. Members of the Arbiter's Alliance. I have asked that you all gather here today so I could inform you of the actions of a man -- an elf, Alyrian Eldeas," he speaks loudly and clearly so that all can hear, his paladin's charisma and diplomatic abilities all being put to use now.

"Some of you may know this elf already, as he has been in this valley for a long time and has been involved with a lot of events, but what is rarely spoken of is his association and dealing with Devils. This elf, Alyrian Eldeas is a consorter of fiends and actively uses them to obtain a frightening power.

He has used this power to slay innocents! He has killed a dozen Red Blades, in this very city!" Hano says as his silver gauntlet comes down as a fist onto the podium simultaneously with the end of the word.

"But still the Triumvirate has offered him mercy despite all of this! We offered him a chance to have the demons exorcised from his body, and offered to remove all of this terrible power from him, so that he could live a normal life seeking redemption!" Hano says, now stepping to the side of the podium and casting a glance over to each of those gathered.

"But he has declined! He has refused to have the devils purged from his body and spit our generous offer to save him back in our eyes. We can not tolerate this! We will not tolerate this and will begin our hunt for him immediately.

Citizens! Members of the Arbiter's Alliance! We ask for your support and permission to actively hunt down and kill this warlock that plagues these lands."

Sealed letters containing the same message are sent to Hano, Osclow, Annie, Cybil, Cirion, and Yashia. Across the back of the page are scrawled the words "For: Hano, From: Alyrian." Once opened, the letters are otherwise free for their recipients to read. No magic lies within the parchment, and the handwriting is small and simple:

" ... I know this is what you wanted all along, old friend. I do not blame you for it ... the yearning to prove your power is one I understand all too well. Against the many true enemies of this land, it is difficult, almost impossible even, to be able to measure any blow you deal them as great.

I am an easy target, because of what I am, because of what I can do, because of what I have done. It's easy to declare me an enemy, vanquish me, and hold my head up high as a trophy. Then, you can shout to the skies and your gods, that your power means something. That your actions have saved the valley and all its people.

But after all that, what will you be left with? One less soul willing to fight alongside you. One less friend to defend you. One less sword for which you can strike against the true darkness with. I can not blame you for it, but, allow me this one concession: to remark how tragic our lives truly are. That you, sworn defender of this land I call home, can not use my power to defend it - and that I, your willing sword, lack the ability to convince you otherwise.

Tamryn no doubt shares your opinion of me. Please ... if you should have slain me before I can see her, please let her know that I am ... truly sorry for ... everything."

      "...killed a dozen Red Blades..."

She closed her eyes and her fists when she heard Hano mentioning it. She felt the same way as she felt when her brother has died. She wanted to hunt the warlock right the way, but, mentally, she did pray instead.

“My Lady. Please, guide my sword through the darkness with your light. For You! For Sundren! For the Red Blades!”

After the annoucement has already said, Andy took her way back to the Red Blades Guild Hall to check up on her duties.

He listen well and quiet. His hands always steady...his mind always focused. Behind the mask he now wears no smile or sad expressions are made. For too long he has waited and tryied to heal himself, but now he know what to do: " I see. So thinks are setled now. "

Yashia sat in her room, alone at this time, with the letter lying in front of her. It had been closed and untouched when Betty handed it over to the rightful recipient. Now it was folded out neatly on top of her desk, being stared at even though she'd likely read it half a dozen times already. She knew exactly whose hands had held the pen from which the message came, yet she couldn't be quite sure who had written it.

          No signature.

Her thumb stoked the bottom of her chin while she pensively kept her eyes intently reading into the letters. Had it come from Alyrian himself, or was it the new devil that had taken a hold of him?

          Enough.

The hand underneath her head left its place and instead was brought to lay flat on top of the sheet of paper, and in only a matter of seconds it was crumbled up in her clenched fist. She rose from her chair, walking over to the fireplace. For a moment she paused, but then she cast the deformed paper ball into the flames.

If the cube had become too much for you, drained you from within, then you should have come and sought for help, Alyrian. Not from a new source of Fel energy, but from the people who had given you sanctuary and your freedom back to begin with. Now you try to win our favor by attempting to attack our conscience without even daring to come to us and show your face. Your true face. The work of fiends, devils, and I will not have it. You're on your own unless you prove that you can and will stand up against the influence you have brought upon yourself. If you can't, won't, and if you surrender to it without trying when everyone's blades are turned against you... then you are nothing but a weak-willed fool. I feel sorry for you, pity you Alyrian. But you have betrayed us. All of us. And I will not stand by your side like I did a few years ago. Not this time.

And if you fight your battles against the wrong side...

She plopped down on the couch, watching the fires shred the elaborately written speech to pieces. Her head was lowered, and her eyes were closed.

... Then I too will be there.

Kolamar Biddle sucked the tip of his quill, hearing the message of sending in his head. "So the betrayer has betrayed those he sought to join." He smiled widely. "Well well well, his allies are growing thin. Perhaps now is the time to strike...
