  • Bard Competion on 12/28/08 being held

*posted on the board outside the exigo trading house*

I will be hosting my second bard competion in a weeks time. Anyone who can dance, tell a story, sing, play a song, or do anything creative that invovles the arts is invited to come and take part in a bard competion being held at the talent and balance theatre in the entertainment district of Sundren city. A 3,000 stag reward will be given to the winner of the competion. I'm sure it will be as enjoyable and successful as it was last time so if you are able please come and join us for a night of song and tales. - Asleina Swafin

Occ: Holding the competion on 12/28/08 at 1 p.m -8 GMT. That would be 21:00 GMT on Sunday 12/28. You do not have to be bard as your class to compete. Anyone who wants to share something creative will be allowed to compete ic wise.

(( Changed the topic title for you as seen from the forums in the outside world ))

Yashia walks by and spots the announcement. "That's my chance for a rematch, I suppose."

A smile crosses her face that dissipates as quickly as it came into being. "The last time things didn't go exactly as planned, but this time..."

She looks up to the sky and a soft sigh leaves her mouth. "This time it will be just as fitting. And I'll go through with it the right way."

With that, the wandering ranger continued, treading firmly on the path set before her.

As Osclow gazes upon the post, his hands tremble. Fear and shame mark his features as the cruel words of a man in his not-so-distant past echo within his mind.

            "Keep your inferior instrument."
            "Keep your inferior instrument."
            "Keep your inferior instrument."

A day of defeat to the hands of another wielder of the song arts. Though the instrument held some minor sentimental value, being his fourth and finest purchased since coming to his valley, it was not the insult upon it that bothered him as much as the insult against his talent. True, the odds were a bit stacked against him given the sabotage of that damned thayan knight and the little flunkie she hired. However, Osclow wondered that he was truly as good as he boasted that dreadful day, then should he not have been able to emerge victorious despite the trap doors, gas bombs, and falling sandbags?

He was bested that day by a wandering stranger whom he should have been able to crush like a bug, despite the fact that he was indeed quite talented. Osclow wore his mask of smiles through dark shameful times, and this was no exception. It bothered him far more than he let on to Cybil, Fenton, or even his beloved Annie.

Perhaps this was finally his opportunity to fully regain his confidence. The possibility intrigued the bard and his fists tightened as the determination washed over him.

This time, he would emerge victorious.
