  • Triumvirate--Racist Elitists

Throughout the city, the commoners are squawking. Some are delighted, and others appalled, but everyone is shocked by the recent public manuevers of the Triumvirate and their allies:
    • Members have refused to help gather quartz because the dimensional lock effort is being lead by a tiefling.
    • A famous ally of the Triumvirate was seen dragging a beaten-up tiefling through the city streets. He was kicking and screaming for help, but could not break free. She roughly dragged him into the Triumvirate barracks, and he was not seen exiting.

*Never one to take ill rumors of his allies laying down, Osclow attempts to spread a few rumors of his own and answer a few questions if need be. The lack of resources he once possessed forces him to concentrate his efforts only within Sundren City itself.*

"Tis never the Triumvirate's way to refuse in the sealing of demons. However, let us be honest with ourselves. If you possess power to conquer evil, do you use your own strength and intelligence or those of someone questionable and unproven? The Triumvirate care little about the blood that runs through the veins of an individual, but more about the heart they possess. Many point fingers and judge, not understanding that one's blood does not automatically make you evil... but it does not grant immunity to eyes turned your way for indecent acts either. The Triumvirate understands this well. If a tiefling is to be examined by the Triumvirate or any other actions taken against them, rest assured it is for their actions, not their blood."

((Note: Bard or not, I made this response a bit earlier than I should have. Ignore it til at least a day or two has passed for the original post))

Rena just giggles at the rumors.

"Well yeah, duh. Maybe if tha tiefles were nicer, peeps would be more willing ta help 'em and trust 'em. 'Sides, I'm sure they'll find plenty-a silly rocks on their own. Assumin' they ain't completely wrong 'bout the whole thing, then I figger they could make a pretty necklace outta those rocks. As fer tha temple, why should they drop e'rything they're doin' ta help out a coupla guys wit' demon blood? Now me, I figger if I find a rock, I might toss it their way, long as they toss some coins back. They prolly ain't makin' a riteral to raise demons or corpses er nuthin'. Prolly."

There Zack stood, talking with Richard across the Trade Post's campfire about Quartz. Aliria the barbarian, and whatever Sentinels that might have been watching being the only witnesses.

The blond headed fallen paladin approached the tiefling, without word, without quarter, snatching his wrist as she pushed her other hand under his arm pit, easily subduing him.

Zack screamed and yelled for help, for anyone to just help him. He was being kidnapped, without word or explanation as to why. All the way from the Trade Post. Past all the Sentinels, the adventurers, Legionaires, and into the Triumvirate Temple. For no reason.

The terrified screams echoed all the way through the city, until the Fallen Paladin turned around at the doors of the Triumvirate and threatened him to get him to shut up. He dared not challenge her, and could only tremble in silence. The smell of urine began to emit from the tiefling -- He couldn't help it, he was horrified by what they would do to him.

Even then, nobody stopped to help Zack. Nobody even asked her why.

She would then drop Zack in the middle of the Triumvirate's training room and leave him there, to cuddle with Cirion while the tiefling lay in his own urine and blood.

The rumours spread like wildfire, dispite Osclow's best efforts to quell them. The attack in full view of the sentinel guards and traders of the post leaves a bitter smell in the air as the exigo staff trade whispers of the nerve of the paladin lovers. The tiefling had been doing nothing wrong, the rumours go, innocently standing by as the female known as a triumvirate sympathiser attacked and captured him. Her reputation as a fierce warrior intervened on her behalf as the sentinels feared to try to stop her, such was the look of anger and hate on her face.

A familiar figure in purple and silver armor is witnessed moving towards the Temple after she hears these rumors. She is quietly polite to everyone she passes in the street, but her lips are pressed together in a thin line, and her eyes hold a certain hardness that convey her displeasure.

The familiar horned figure stands there looking at the jail thinking to himself how he can benefit from the other tieflings incarceration but he could not think of a way, so he decided he would defend the tiefling from these evil scheeming holy rollers and be his self proclaimed attorney.

Waiting outside Nerana once again started feeling lost. "Why have they detained Zack? The rumors say that he was attacked without provocation. There is no sense to this. Why has one of the aggressors been released before the victim?" She mumbled her questions softly, sitting in the waiting room, waiting.

And there Zack stood. Ever since she got to the Post, he had been tormenting her, taking low blows at her, kicks while she was already down. She suspected him of being involved in the Thayan plot that had led to the assault on her love. And now... Now he commandeered Nerena around in a gentle tone, to have her 'willingly' write a report - cited by Zack to the letter - to slander Yashia for giving Cirion a comforting kiss while he was feeling miserable already. According to the tiefling, and written by Nerena, she was 'chasing away traders' by doing so. He even forced the slave girl to sign with her own name. No one would believe it if he wrote it himself, after all. Aliria the barbarian, Richard, and whatever Sentinels that might have been watching were the only witnesses.

Cirion wished to do something to stop him, to bring him in front of the Triumvirate for what he did to the woman who was supposed to be under the temple's protection. He could no longer bear seeing Nerena suffer like this, but he could not do anything himself. He watched in agony, his physical state not allowing him to act. Yashia shared his pain, and though she tried to convince him that nothing could truly be done, it wouldn't comfort him. But he deserved it, she had to at least give him a sense of peace during his recovery. Some anger boiling deep down within her, a will to punish Zack for what he did. But Yashia didn't act on that, because Cirion asked her not to.

The blonde fallen paladin approached the tiefling. He defensively jumped backwards, an attempt to escape confrontation, Yashia knew. Without word, she snatched his wrist as she pushed her other hand under his arm pit, easily subduing him. Zack screamed and yelled for help, for anyone to just help him. She took him with her to speak with him at the Triumvirate, for pursuing to impose his will on the former slave girl Nerena whom he kept trying to drag away from their better influence. This is what Yashia told to the Sentinels at the Post, and any city guards she met along the way. She did not say everything, but she spoke truthfully. And none of them seemed willing to do anything to act against her.

The terrified screams echoed all the way through the city, until the Fallen Paladin turned around at the doors of the Triumvirate and shouted at him to shut up, with her eyes saying that she really meant it. He dared not challenge her, and could only tremble in silence, following Yashia meekly into the temple.

Once inside, she took Zack in the middle of the Triumvirate's training room. Yashia saw that he was so afraid he couldn't even keep standing on his own strength. Regardless of her contempt for the man and the things she believed him guilty of, she couldn't just leave him there, and firmly but not harshly helped him towards one of the cushioned walls so he could sit down and find some ease. She had wanted to soothe him somewhat before High Adjudicator Melchior would arrive as asked, but then Cirion came stumbling in. The fallen paladin of Sune had come to see if she was alright, badly straining himself by marching the long path into the city. Yashia left Zack behind her and darted off towards him, supporting him to settle down next to her. They rested together, and waited for what was to come.

Cirion sat down, leaning against the tree and speaking to Yashia

"He still continues to command her, like he still owns her as a slave. Still telling her what to do"

Cirion stated to Yashia, as he watch Zack command Nerana to do all that he wishes. Zack would give Nerana a command and she would do it exactly as he said, it was like Zack could snap his fingers and she would run up to him like a trained dog.

Every moment Cirion saw Zack near Nerana was too much. To Cirion, it was allowing a criminal speak to a child, teaching how to follow the man, and to act in wrong ways. No more, Cirion had enough of Zack's actions. Enough of being mocked by Zack, when the tiefling first saw him in his pained condition but especially of Zack ordering Nerana around as the former slave she once was.

He was now watching as Zack ordered Nerana to start writing slander against him and Yashia, Cirion soon tried to stand up and slowly did with Yashia's help. But moving or standing felt horrible for Cirion, most of the pain gone from his body, except from around his groin. With every movement feeling like torture, Yashia told him him how he was in no condition to do anything. Still, Cirion felt someone needed to do something to keep these two apart. Instead Yashia said she would take Zack into the Temple but only if Cirion would stay still and near the tree. To this, Cirion agreed and Yashia soon went to apprehend Zack.

During the whole time Yashia went to take Zack from the Trade Post, Cirion had said out loud and several times:
"Zack is being brought in for his ownership of a slave he purchased and later his show of ownership over her on Exigo Grounds and other areas of Sundren Territory."

Very little was done to stop Yashia from taking Zack, as most people stood there watching. Cirion soon tried to follow but was only able to get there with the help of a friend, just like he had done to actually arrive at the Trade Post in the first place. But by the time Cirion had arrived at the Triumvirate, Yashia had already brought Zack in.

Cirion pushed open the doors to the Triumvirate, walked up to the small wall around the sparring area, and nearly collapsed on it, feeling completely drained from his hurried and painful movement across Sundren. Yashia soon looked over to Cirion and ran to him, holding her arms around him and pulling him around to sit down and rest against the low wall of the sparring section, in the opposite corner from where Zack laid. Sitting down, the pain in his body still feeling like a vise-clamp on his crotch but no longer did he feel like he being hit with a sledge-hammer with every step. Cirion sat down and rested his head on Yashia's shoulder, waiting for a High Adjudicator to arrive and speak to them.
