  • The Violent Warrior

Rumors begin to circulate around the Exigo Trade post of an incredibly violent, foreign warrior. Rumors describe him as being "persistent, chasing down and possibly harming persons without restraint." The information further describes a man wielding two exotic blades, one of them being an artifact entrusted to his duty and readily misused, which he will draw upon anyone who offends him. Various sources describe him as attacking those without yield until "his honor is sated," unsheathing his weapons even upon those who are unarmed. "Even women and small-folk," they whisper in hushes, "next it will be the children."

The warriors name was not spoken, however now is referred to simply as "Snow."

Hearing of the violent foreign warrior,it brings one man to Night Owl's mind. He prays he is wrong, but then again, there has been an influx of these foreign warriors from the east. Knowing little of them himself. He leaves the Exigo after his short visit, and heads for the forest with his pack over his shoulder, and spear in hand.

"The man consorts with evil outsiders, as well, and is clearly mad. He single-handedly led several men and women into their deaths simply to appease his 'honor', when challenged by an army of thugs."

A man watched this event unfold from the shadows. He had witnessed duels before. Duels involving those who use spells and those who use steel. In all cases he had never seen the duel proceed unless both parties wished it to. In all cases had they wished so the mediators of the duel had allowed the spellcaster to prepare themselves...

Not this time. The Hin showed no interest in this duel. The man who wielded steel drew first. The Hin who used spells began to cast and was hacked into pieces shortly afterwards. The man in the shadows was amazed, even more so when the Paladin who was the mediator claimed the Warrior victorious. And then he heard the Bard affirm what spell the Hin cast... Invisibility. A defensive spell. How was the Warrior to know this? He wasn't, that is why there was a Mediator. At least that's what the man in the shadows thought.

The man watched the Bard rush over and help to bring the Hin back to consciousness. The man watched them all argue. The group finally split up with the Bard following the Hin and the Paladin following the Warrior.

The man in the shadows walked off shaking his head still in disbelief at what he had just witnessed.

Leckith wandered through the trading post in a reverie, a woman's name in his lips. "Dimenin" he whispered, breezing through. Suddenly the words of two traders chatting across their stalls came to his ears, words of a demon samurai cutting down a helpless halfling woman for some perceived slight on his honour. "I heard she just looked at him funny," came one man's claim, "and he called her out to a duel. She refused, crying for mercy and he cut her down on the spot!"

Leck did a double take, hardly daring to admit he had just heard what he'd heard, and chuckling at the far-fetched story. "What was his name this 'demon samurai'?"

          "Frost-Eagle!"
          "No, it was Ice-Sparrow!"
          "No... Freeze-Falcon?"
"Nah, I'm sure it was Snow something... Snowy? Sleet!?"

Leck stared a moment before comprehension hit him. "You mean Snow-Hawk?"
"Aye, 'as the one!" The trader spouted, pleased with himself for remembering this was correct.
"Nonsense!" Leck burst out laughing, "He's no murderer, and he's certainly no demon. You should confirm the facts before you go spreading stories." With that he walked onwards, chuckling merrily.

Guys, watch the god modding. Rumors are supposed to be in first person.
There was a big thing over this about 4 weeks ago. Only the event DM's
get to say what an NPC says, feels, and does. I can't even GodMod.
((Got yelled at by LH for it, so it effects me as well))

(( Hah no Uri, your post was fun to read, but we do have to be very careful about how we represent NPCs. Sol too. It's completely fine to use rumors to make up lies, boost rep, trash people, etc., but it must be done from your perspective. This post, for example, gives the impression that Exigo people have some beef with SnowHawk. That may or may not be the case, but it is not up for players to do that.

Just be careful please everyone. We want to encourage creative writing like this, but at the same time, we HAVE to be fair to every player and stay within our boundaries. ))

Upon hearing the rumor, Aratil goes into a deep meditation, trying to remember where he has heard of a samurai whose name includes 'Snow'.

The only person that comes to mind is the man who lead the expedition into the Spine of the World not a week ago: A fellow mentioned as 'Snow Hawk'. But that couldn't be right, could it? He was quite a capable leader, albeit a bit strict. There's no way he could have been seen harming innocents...

((Stealing that pic, by the way. Freakin' awesome. IF it's all right.))

[[ Forgive me as I'd never made a rumor post before, and made it in likeness of the one that was posted previously. It's okay, as I am already moderately disliked I see. Keep the penalties rolling, as well as the RP then! ]]
