Rumors sweep thru the villages and townships bordering the Viridale of how a brave band of heroes, caught behind enemy lines, slipped into the command post and took the head from the snake so to speak.
Seems a powerful Ogre Magi had arisen from the ranks and trained quite a few apprentices. The balance of power had shifted in the mossclaw alliance and the ogres had gathered together a great army.
These brave heroes are directly responsible for the army's disoulution without leadership and for many of the humanoids scattering back to the dark places they came from.
Another rumor has it that a number among the heroes were lost, Kathryn, Cirion, and Dalon fell to ogre muscle and magic.
An opposing rumor says that Dalon himself was the hero of the day, killing the High Ogre Magi himself.
Lastly, there is talk of dark cloaked humanoids in the trees seen watching the group very carefully, speck of green picking out the edges of their armor lest they seem but shadows.
