Commoners in Sundren talk about a brief attack from "shadow monsters." Black, amoebic forms crawled and stretched across the rooftops, coming from the west. They descended the buildings, keeping to the darker areas. They attacked many people in the street, but were thwarted by some locals. These same locals went West into Viridale to find the source.
