Death From Below

Rumor spreads that an adventuring party, some of which were investigating a slaughter and others in search of lost treasure in the Mossdale swamps, encountered a seemingly endless horde of strange and terrifying creatures invading the land from a cavern leading to unknown depths beneath the surface of Toril.

Among their number were giant lobster or beetle-like creatures capable of causing mental disarray with their screams of insanity, a being with a great number of eyes afflicting all those looking upon it with it's deadly stare, and several squid-faced humanoids that utilized some kind of magic, and were recognized by one of the group as 'Illithids'.

After having struck down several waves of assault and only barely staying alive, the group understood that they were vastly outnumbered and decided to make a run for it. The Sundarian Legion has been made aware of the unknown invaders, though action has not been taken yet.

(( Actually, let's put a halt to this right here. Those were OOC tests performed by Sean for new scripts on his creatures. The DM team wants to be clear that Sundren is in no way under attack from the Underdark. Please treat that as a one-time thing folks. Sorry for the confusion, we do appreciate the IC report though! ))

Upon returning to the bogs as a scout to determine just how seriously this threat was escalating, one of the adventurers now found the area around the aforementioned cavern empty. There was no trace of the attackers to be found... Perhaps it had all just been a terrible nightmare.
