Bridge Troll

Rumors have been circulating about an altercation with a giant troll on the bridge in the Viradale forest. While the specifics range widely, the common elements to the story are that the troll attempted to block a party returning to the saftey of the border camp with their wounded; that one of the party attempted to first scare the troll off, then barter with him for passage; that the troll demanded one of the party as payment, since he was hungry (most rumors say he demanded an elf becuase of their delicate flavor, but this hasn't been confirmed); and finally that the man bartering refused and battle ensued.

In conjuction with this rumor, it is also said that the Druid Grove has, on display, a giant troll head on a pike. While they aren't releasing details, they relate with some humor that it was "escorted in to see the wonderful lodging the Druids offer those who meddle in the forest".

As soon as Snow Hawk hears this rumor he hurries home to the grove and immediately lights the troll head on fire, especially since it had almost fully regenerated. Then he begins looking for the fool who left troll body parts unburnt to regrow in a populated area.

*Tellesian chuckles to himself as he see his friend Snow Hawk light the almost fully regenerated troll on fire.*

"I was going to try and train the troll, maybe spare its life for service," Tellesian thinks as he begins to laugh out loud at Snow Hawk leaping back quickly from the now blazing troll, eyebrows singed.

((okay, I gotta ask this ooc question because I have always been curious about it, but do not know if it is polite for me to start a whole new thread on it. Is it true that a troll will completely regrow if the head remains, or is that just a popular adventurer rumor in Forgotten Realms? Also, will a severed arm or leg do the same?))

Yes, according to lore, any piece of a troll not burned with fire, or destroyed with acid will eventually regenerate into a new troll over a period of time. That is why they are so dangerous.
