It begins to spread through the ranks of some of the Militia, and eventually the public, that Captain Majer and his elite soldiers from Neverwinter assaulted the Veritas Stronhold in the Schild Mountains. Partnered with a man named Karthus, and the catapult crews of the Legion posted at the mountain's encamptment, Captain Majer successfully punched a hole through the defenses of the enemy despite the overwhelming odds.
The rumors go on to say, whether accurate or not, that the explosions of the flaming projectiles from the catapults had been bright enough to make night appear as day, and that there were enough arrows hailing from above that they could make day appear as night.
The most common explanation as to why this massive attack was strategized, was that a mere lone Dwarf had fallen in battle at the peek of the mountain. For some reason, this Dwarf, alone, was worth the risk of many of Neverwinter's finest soldiers, the cost of catapult equipment, and the full effort of one Karthus El'than.
