Murdered Elves
It seems there have been two multiple murders where groups of Elves travelling on the thoroughfares of Sundren have been brutally massacred. Rumor has is that the bodies of these travellers were found with rectangular areas of skin removed from their backs. Some whisper that it is the work of Necromancers, others say it was probably Dwarves with a little too much (or perhaps too little) ale in their bellies.
Heretics attempt to posion the city
There has been talk that a group of ragged street preachers were caught in possession of a number of containers bearing a concentrated form of the plague after having been observed meeting clandestinely with an unknown woman in the sewers under Sundren. It seems that poisonous rhetoric wasn't enough for these people, and they sought to inflict disease on people; as if their tedious and heretical tirades were not bad enough. The city militia have invoked the special powers granted to them under the LOYALIST act, and are rounding up all people suspected of subversive or heretical activity and intend to detain such troublemakers indefinitely. Some people seem to think there'll be executions soon enough.
The Churches call for their followers to rally
The temples of Helm and the Triumvirate have put out a call for all those loyal to The Protector and The Triad to unite with them in order to resist the perils befalling Sundren.
((If your PC follows Helm, or one of The Triad [Tyr, Torm, & Ilmater] and hasn't yet had contact with their temple then don't be shy to prod a DM when you're online and we'll help if we can))
A record seizure
It seems a large quantity of liquor which the Kurz cartel was attempting to smuggle into Sundren was prevented from circumventing the proper channels when a daring group of adventurers entrered the smugglers' tunnel system and captured the shipment. The common people rejoice at paying more for their booze, and all those who would seek to avoid paying the proper taxes on good they import are running scared. Special Customs Agent Bureaucratus Tedium of the Sundarian Customs and Excise House is said to have been so impressed by this piece of work that he is having a plaque to commemorate the raid. It is also said that he may be looking for other 'adventuring' types to do a little freelance work on behalf of the customs house.
Missing Children
A number of children have gone missing from Sestra recently. Most likely they've run away from home; a damning indictment against the quality of parenting in Sundren.
