  • The woods awaken

Word spreads that a small group of adventurers encountered giant plant creatures out in the forest. It is said that they did not only attack the travellers themselves, but also wiped out a large part of the Grimaxe orc force and they were seen standing up against treants blighted by the plague.

Apparently, the Keeper and his druids have gone through some efforts to strengthen the Viridale to rise up by itself against the taint's spreading. What is happening is not their doing however, they have little control over the creatures that spawn from the forest floors. Anything and anyone who is not part of the woods themselves is seen as an intruder and will likely be attacked without question.

Seeing as the giants of vegetation can come into existence from the gathering leaves and branches on the ground in a very brief moment, one can never know when to expect said creatures will strike them. The only sign of their imminent creation are sudden rumbling and unnatural movements of plants on the soil beneath one's feet. People are once again warned to stay out of the Viridale if they value their own safety.

Abbot Proskus of the Helmite Temple has also issued a warning that the Viridale is unsafe for all travelers, irrespective of their motive or intent.

Mittens sat under a tree in a secluded mountain valley. She glanced at the racks of liazard meat drying over a small fire. With a grin she mused that the war with the man lizards had gone well. The hunts had provided much meat to sustain a new tribe for her. In addition her campain up the mountain has supplied her with many "stags" to buy weapons and armour from the dwarves in the city. Turning back to the battle plans she had been drawing in the dirt with a stubby finger.

"Perhaps with this news from the forest, now is the time to claim a new tribe?" she thought.
Butch: "You know, when I was a kid, I always thought I was gonna grow up to be a hero."
Sundance: "Well it's to late now."

      Toons:
      Mittens Whitepaw (Feral Druid),
      Rose Thimblefoot (Simple Seamstress),
      Melody Mourningsoul (Cursed Bard)
Katalina Zephyr (Guardian of the Grave)
Gabrielle Dumoine (the Duchess of Waterdeep... 'onestly...)

James Leith hears of the happenings in the forest and sighs.

"So finally the forest rises to reclaim itself. Good. Nature will always seek to restore the balance. I do hope those with good hearts heed the warnings. I would hate to them get hurt or worse. As for those with evil hearts,*smiles sardonically* I hope they enjoy their walk in the woods..."

Captain Majer hears the word and sighs and seems talking to himself

"I've seen those trees, they were walking like zombies... Could be her, perhaps? I hope not..."

Majer then makes his way back to the Four Lanterns Inn to meet with his men
"Nothing is true, everything is permitted."
