  • Camp fires don't solve your problems.

Nulinus walks into exigo camp ground with a bucket of water and splashes it on the fire and stomps out the camp fire. He then stands where it used to be, looking at the disgruntled crowd, he speaks.

"A girl of 14 years of age was strung up by neradnal yeasterday, while we sat here and talked about our day, or the weather. Families have gone missing while we sat here and enjoyed a bag of trail mix with our friends. The plague strikes down hundreds a day while we sat here and nit picked about how much rain there is."

He stomps his foot and looks around at the crowd, smiling at Elassir.

"Well I say no more, this camp fire is a testament to our lack of action, our lack of care. I say to you, that landaren can be defeated, there is hope, I have a plan. Only you, only me, can make this happen. We can not wait for any one else, you have to believe in your self. Cadmus has left, that does not mean anything, I see in every one of you what I saw in cadmus, a strength to fight this horrible force."

Nulinus looks around once more, rubbing the scars on his face.

"You all say Carmellas rants were annoying when she really was pointing out that we stop talking and do something, you all thought we were foolish when we actualy wanted to un-park our asses from this miserable camp fire and do something. Well, if you have learned anything fom this, come to me, and I will inform you of my plan, and I hope you all share you're ideas as well.. . .Farewell"

He dumps the rest of the water on the now destroyed fire and heads towards the crossroads.

    "Don't even re-light it either!"

A short distance away, by a small rock formation and some bushes, Yashia observed Nulinus' 'speech' to the people around the campfire. She had stood by Nulinus, had agreed with the dwarven paladin of Gorm that something had to be done and this division and general carelessness couldn't go on for much longer or it would mean that the dark times for Sundren had only just begun. But was this the proper way of forming a force to thwart Landaren's advance? Was it not foolish to simply involve anyone in the heart of their operations, at the risk of informing spies and future turncoats and thus the enemy itself of their plans?

Yashia sighed. She had put her faith in Nulinus' capability to lead. Of this decision however, she was uncertain. A brave and noble idea, but a dangerous one that could go terribly wrong. Even if it didn't get the wrong people on the inside, the word would still spread and undoubtedly reach Landaren in not all too long a time.

The ranger shook her head and tried to banish the worries that were taking over once again. Balthasar had told her not always to fear for the worst. She had to see things from the bright side, like the morning sun rising up against a seemingly neverending night, always prevailing in the end. After a moment of contemplation, she set off to the Viridale. A stroll would do good to clear her mind...

A heavily cloaked and hooded figure stands near the large oak tree at Exigo, listening to Nulinus.

"I hope they gather, it will be that much easier to destroy them."

With a smile the figure silently walks towards the city.

*A bit of atmosphere is brought to the conversations around the fireplace through the strings of a mandolin by a musician in red. It is a neutral tone seeming more for practice than anything else, likely for some greater song or other performance piece. Regardless, it puts at ease the minds that have experienced a hard day's work in the earlier hours of the day.
This tone changes, slowly transforming into something new to fill the ears, minds, and hearts of those about. The dwarf's words trigger this change, as if by a verbal cue. The music is uplifting and encouraging to some, but remains subtle and airy as it is determined not to deviate the focus from the words of the dwarf. Indeed, the music exists for the brave words, as if merely background to his lyrics. The music remains even as the dwarf departs, in hopes to further convince those who color their minds with possibilties of brave deeds, adventure, or perhaps merely potential reward*

*A smile escapes the lips of the musician in red, as does a whisper meant only for himself and those of the heavens who would turn an ear to such a simple man.*
