Rumors circulate of an elderly mage who was selling plague cures. He actually sold one potion to a plague victim and you could see a miraculous change in the person, he seemed to grow stronger as the crowd watched. After this display, the crowd clamored for the cure and the elderly mage sold all he had and then had to use a special gate spell to escape the crowd.
According to one of the members of the crowd, the mage told him in confidence that he had been hired by the Triumverate and the Sundren Government to help a host of mages come up with a cure for the plague. This was not the partial cure that the priests have given out, but an actual cure. The mages were successful, but the cure was taken from them and secured by the Triumverate, for what purpose, the mage could not tell. The mage said he was able to secure a number of cures and then used his magic to "teleport" to freedom. The individual also said that while they were talking, some Sundren guards started towards the mage. The mage threw up some dust and spoke a quick incantation and then teleported 100 paces to the east and made his escape. The person indicated that this added to the veracity of his tale.
