The good
It seems that the Church of Helm, with the aid of a group of adventurers, has been able to produce a medicine which slows the progress of the plague and eases the pain and madness of those afflicted. It is no cure, but the maddened cries of the sufferers are no longer quite so loud and disturbing.
Some say that the Keeper of the Grove may know how to find the source of all this trouble within the Viridale, but details are sketchy about this.
The bad
Some of the soldiers in the forts surrounding the Viridale have taken ill with the plague. Captain Rixen has blamed the biting insects which have begun to come out of the Viridale. He has been calling for reinforcements, and for the aid of the Helmites and Triumvirate in making his men less susceptible to catching it. It also seems that the forts have been coming under more attacks as of late; There have been disorganised forays by humanoids maddened by the plague, and also desperate attempts at flight by some of the Mossclaw being driven ahead of creatures twisted by the plague.
A number of new cases have been reported in the city. It seems that the illness has begun to enter town once more through some new and unknown vector.
The Rabble Rousing
Some say that the Triumvirate are in possession of a stone which can cure the disease, but for some reason are not using it. A mage by the name of Anders has been heard talking loudly in Aquor, while drinking in the Floating Flagon, about the fact that he created this stone, and passed it onto Balthasar via an intermediary.
