  • Necropolis Off Limits

Rumor spreads that a small group of adventurers were forced to leave the Necropolis by small beings in dark armor. It is unclear if these beings are some form of undead.

Soon after, a man resembling the dead Paladin Tyfton came to the Exigo Trading Post. He approached the campfire and warned all to, "Stay away from the Necropolis. It is our home now!"

    * A notice is posted outside the Necropolis in large writing; it would be difficult to miss.*

    DO NOT ENTER.

For too long callous and greedy adventurers have entered our domain and left our halls and grounds in disarray.
For too long we have tolerated trespassers who have pillaged and looted our home.
For too long the living dared presume authority over the dead.

These audacious crimes will no longer go unpunished. Henceforth, we the inhabitants of the Necropolis, deem these grounds off limits to all except those expressly invited. Those who disregard this notice and our will shall be dealt with severely. Those who destroy our brothers and sisters will find they are missing theirs. It is our wish to be left alone.

Do not enter. To do so is to declare war on the Necropolis and its citizens. It will not be a war you can stomach; every loss to yours will be a gain to ours. Do not invade our city, or we will invade yours.

This is not up for debate. This is your final warning.

From a distance, Alyrian watches as the looming spires of the Necropolis seem to grow more foreboding. Shaking his head, he whispers, "Just ... a bit more ... "

He draws a hand across his face, and vanishes into the starry night.

A man in dark armored was seen in the Viridale Forest. He dragged to commoners behind him. Once he came upon a witness, the dark armored man said, "You were warned. Two people came to the Necropolis and now two people will die!" He then pulled out some type of bladed weapon that was sheathed in black flames and slew the two commoners. As he dragged the two bodies with him, he said, "Stay away from the Necropolis!"

*Tellesian Tel'Darian hears the stories and a look of concern passes.*

"They now come to the forest to exact revenge? Something must be done. I must muster all the rangers and druids of this land and try to see if we can stem this evil."

*With that, Tellesian makes his way to the druid glade.*

A hooded and cloaked man stands at the Gates to Necropolis, his head hung down after reading the notice. He looks up slowly, revealing firey, glowing eyes as he stares up into the crypts. He vanishes into a ball of darkness, but anyone watching would have seen the gate open slightly and be closed again.

                    * Six corpses of adventurers are found just within the entrance of the Necropolis. It is evident they tried to enter.

Later that evening, six random Sundren City families--fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers--are found
by the Everwatch butchered in their homes. Was this revenge? *

Cadmus traces a zone of warding in front of the gates of the Necropolis finishing his task with a prayer to Helm.

"The next time your forces seek to leave the safety of your city we shall be waiting boy."

*After reading the sign and pondering all the rumors that have come across his ears the ranger James Leith frowns and mutters...*

There are many dark places in this world that are best left undisturbed. To many try to be heroes. Is it heroic when thy actions result in the deaths of innocents, even indirectly? Watch and wait, watch and wait. If the powers that be in those lands are evil, they may come forth soon enough. If not then no harm done.
